  I went from excellence to a "regular room". We leave in a little over 2 months for our HM. I can't say anything else because I havne't been there yet, but I have heard from a lot of people. The people that say "the excellence package is soooo worth it" are the people that went with it, and the one's that say "it really doesn't matter at all" are the one's who didn't go with it. So I think either way you'll be happy. you do get better views if you are excellence club though, but we decided to switch to save us some serious $$.
  
  I'll post a review after my Feb. wedding. G/L. I hear it's amazing I can't wait to go.

  I haven't gone either. I'm planning on going August 3-12, 2010. Would love to know HOW you booked, I'm trying to save some $ since we want the rooftop terrace that everyone said is "Definitely worth the $$"!!

  Orbitz.com right now is offering HUGE sales on it. But that was to travel in Feb. when I'm going... not sure about your date. I'd check it out though..

  I booked through a travel agent b/c their rate for room was a little less than what's listed on the excellence website ($200 less). ALso, doing it through a travel agent might be best b/c if the price drops, they will honor it. Orbitz, etc. will not!

  We went to EPM for our honeymoon 10/19-10/29 and absolutely LOVED it. We went all out, rooftop terrace, excellence club. If we were ever to go back, we would stay in a regular room. Not that we didn't enjoy everything, we just wouldn't need it next time. We only went on the rooftop terrace once, that's really something to consider, how much you'll use it. We liked being by the main pool, or on the beach. I slightly regret getting the rooftop terrace. I don't regret getting the excellence club at all, because every day I loved waking up, opening the shades, going back to bed and being able to see the water from bed. I wanted the great view, and that's exactly what we got.
  Other perks for the club that we really didn't need are better toiletries (I always pack everything I might need, I only used their toothpaste), alcohol in the room (how often do you drink in the room? If you want a drink, there are bars all around the resort to get one), use of the excellence club, which had some food, drink, and computers, but you can get food anywhere, drink anywhere, and there are computers in the main building. You get a beach bag, which we did use, it was nice, but I would  be fine bringing my own bag. I think there are certain pools and certain parts of the beach that are designated for excellence club, but no one would know you were in it or not, it really didn't matter.
  As far as activities, every night they slip a sheet under your door or everything going on the next day, all the restaurants that are open or closed, if there's a show at night, and all the activities during the day. They usually have something hourly, off the top of my head I would say kayaking, spanish lessons, dancing lessons, kitchen tour, bike tour, poker tournament, blackjack tournament, bingo, towel art, pool volleyball, things like that. We did bingo and blackjack, and had a lot of fun.

  We just got back from EPM a few hours ago...and we can't wait to go back!!  The resort is awesome...hands down the best we've ever been to!
  
  We stayed in a rooftop terrace room and while I don't regret it, I will say that we barely used it...we spent most of our time floating in the pools or lounging in one of the poolside bungalows or a swinging bed.
