Honeymoon, Trips?

So, I don't remember what anyone's honeymoon is, and since it's getting closer for everyone.. what is it?? Do you have any other trips planned as well?

Since FI and I went to St. Lucia in January, we are doing Disneyland, CA Adventure and Santa Barbara for our honeymoon. Driving down the day after the wedding. I just planned a trip for a hotel on the ocean at Pismo Beach too for next winter too. I need to have little things planned to get me through! Oh, and we'll be going to Portland, OR sometime this year, probably late summer, to visit family and camping in July at Donner Lake. That's about it though!

Costa Rica! Woohoo!! No other trips planned at this time but we do have another day at Disney World to use before June, so we'll probably go do that for a day in May to help ourselves adjust back into the real world, haha.

Belize! I'm excited but at the moment just stressed because honeymoon shopping is yet ANOTHER thing I don't have time to do. oy!

We don't really have other trips planned. We have a wedding in Denver in September and a wedding in NC in October, so we'll be going to those. Probably, for the sake of our bank accounts, any other trips this year will either be small or visiting family.

We are not going on a honeymoon because of FI's job, but we find out next weekend if we are getting a puppy or not (FI wants a male hunting lab, and is third on the list for one). If there are enough males to go around we will be taking a weekend trip to Indy in May to pick him up

The Big Island and Maui. That's going to be our only true vacation this year because it maxes out FIs vacation time.
But, we are going to spending 4th of July weekend in Cape Cod for one my good friend's wedding. So it will be like a mini vacay.

I'd like to squeeze a couple of other weekend trips in this year as well. Need to see how some things play out first.

Lots of fun and adventures planned here for this year! Just before the wedding (less than 2 weeks actually) we're going to Disney for the day to see my step-cousin and her school band/orchestra perform. She can't make it to the wedding so she really wants to see me, and I haven't seen her since she was a little girl (and now she's almost ready to graduate high school!!!!). The honeymoon is in St. Augustine! We will be staying at a bed-and-breakfast there. I'm so excited!!! In May we have his cousin's wedding in Cape Coral, so we'll be driving down there for that. Then over the summer we'll be flying up to New York for a week or so. We both come from there so we want to see family who couldn't make it to the wedding. His sister got married in October down here and she wants to hold a reception in NY for the family and friends who couldn't make it down here for the weddings. Then in September we're joining my parents for a few days on Sanibel. They go every year and have friends who want to hear everything about the wedding. I don't think I will be able to handle much after this. The next trip we're taking after these will be up to Michigan and Illinois to visit my step-aunts uncles and cousins.

Our wedding and honeymoon are both in the Riviera Maya. I'm already thinking about future trips as well, we'd really like to go to Vegas in the next year.

Haha, I forgot about the other weddings. FI is a groomsman in a June wedding in VA and I'm a bridesmaid in a November wedding in FL. My friend hasn't set a date yet so I'm not sure if FI will be able to make it or if he'll be off learning how to fly a jet into a hurricane, lol.

We're headed to New Zealand for two weeks. Which reminds me, I really should book some hotels and maybe a rental car, at the very least.

No other trips planned, as of yet.

haha, yah I'd get on that! I'm jealous- I have a few friends who live in NZ, and a friend who just moved to NZ and the pictures she posts are amazing!! The beaches are so blue and everything is gorgeous.

We're going to Sicily for a week. I can't wait! (especially because it's snowing outside as I sit here typing... I'm actually worried I'm going to freeze on my wedding day now cause my dress isn't very big)

Apart from that, no trips planned, but we will almost definitely be moving internationally by summer. Where to, we're not sure yet, but we have academic job applications out in various US states, England, elsewhere in Europe. It's scary not having anything solidly lined up at the moment, but we are confident that something will work out.

Were doing St. Lucia....for 11 nights!!!! Im so excited to truly get away for such a long extended period of time. We are staying at 2 different resorts on the island to mix up the trip and cant wait! We are also having 'big' bachelor/bachelorette parties, Key west for me, Vegas for him. I'm excited!!

Dandelion: FI and I stayed ay Excellance resort 2 yrs ago--youll LOVE it!!!!

We are going to Maui, Hawaii! I am so excited! We will also spend Labor Day weekend in Vegas for FI's brother's wedding

Hopefully those will be the only big trips this year because I am planning on being pregnant soon so we will have to save money! Although we may do a Disneyland vacation with FI kids late summer

We are going to Rome for 4 days and then on an 11 night cruise of Turkey and Greece! Can't wait, we leave 4 days after the wedding!

That's why I'm not planning anymore big trips! I need to save time at work so I can take a longer maternity, and I have no idea, what if I plan a trip, but i get pregnant quickly and feel like crud? It's tricky!

Also- for St. Lucia- you MUST take a Joe Knows trip! Sandals works with them, but they take people outside Sandals. They are so much fun and hilarious, totally worth it!!

I don't have vacation time yet, so we're doing two days at Frenck Lick, Indiana. (Yes, it's a real place and that really is the name of it. It's a short drive from us and has a casino, spas, indoor waterpark, go karts, etc.)

We hope to do a "real" honeymoon later this year, but FH is graduating this spring and not sure what his job/vacation situation will be.

Exactly! Hopefully we both get lucky pretty soon and get pregnant! It's weird that a year and a half ago I just wanted to get married to FI and wanted a baby... now we are planning both! The wedding is soclose! I was thinking about that last night. Literally around the corner!

Wow some awesome trips planned ladies!

Were headed to Curacao for 5 days after the wedding - it will be a shorter trip with all the traveling but the snorkeling is suppose to be amazing and the resort looks fantastic and I can't wait!

It's nothing exotic but the new hubby and I will be taking a trip with two other couples to the Ozarks for a long weekend on the lake this summer and then a weekend tubing trip a couple weeks later.

And then I am sooooo excited to be taking my daughter for her first Disney World trip in December.

A friend of mine is getting married in the Dominican Republic next February, and we are trying to see if we can swing that trip or not. I really want to go but its not cheap and after some of the trips this year, I'm not sure it will be feasible.

We're going on a cruise! Nice and short because FI has just started a new job and barely has any days accrued. We're leaving the morning after the wedding and staying away Monday through Saturday. I have been with my company quite a while so I'm taking two whole weeks off (for the first time in 11 years) and taking care of my name change after we get back.

Then, in late september, we're going to New Orleans for a long weekend with FI's best man and his wife as a get away not tied to any weddings.

Am I the only one NOT going on a honeymoon?!

FI and I just don't have the budget so we are putting a honeymoon on hold for now. I am waiting for a couple bonuses at work and if I get them then we are booking either DR or Jamaica in December.

We're going to Aruba! We leave two days after the wedding. FI planned the honeymoon. My only request was an all-inclusive, he picked the destination. I'm excited.

We'll probably hit Vegas sometime later this year. We're also moving to Ohio in June. So we'll get back from the honeymoon and move a little over a month later.

We are going to Orlando for 5 days. I was being a smartalec to my mom and told her we couldn't decide between the grand canyon and disney world. My stepdad over heard and booked us a room at a super fancy resort just next to Disneyworld. He told me there is nothing at the grand canyon.
We are driving from Texas. Neither of us are fond of flying. But we have to be back the next Saturday for my grand daighter's birthday.
FI keeps trying to schedule things for it but I told him back off and relax. However we will go to Disney one day and Cirque du soliel.

We have a few other trips planned for this year. We are taking a long weekend next week and going camping just the 2 of us. It will be my birthday and I just wanted some time alone.
We have a group lake trip, a group tubing trip, and a group beach trip already planned. Did I mention he is the founder of a social group? Ugh!

Which resort are you staying at?

Have you ever been to the Grand Canyon? It's pretty epic so if you haven't been, definitely schedule a trip in the near future. Your stepdad is slightly correct, though. There are the typical GC activities like white water rafting, hiking, camping and just plain looking at it, lol. However, it's about an hour off of I-40, so it takes a little while to get to anything else. I would really like to have about 2-3 weeks to tour all of the national parks out west one day.

I wasn't going to have one either. FI and I wanted to go to Yellowstone but couldn't afford it, so someone suggested taking a mini-honeymoon. With our budget we couldn't afford it. Then my parents gave us our wedding present early: They were going to pay for our mini-honeymoon! So we chose St. Augustine and my parents are paying for the bed-and-breakfast we are staying at and giving us extra spending money.
