Closing was a nightmare yesterday, but it actually happened and we got our house!  We signed our life away, changed the locks, and started our cleaning and painting gameplan. 

There is SO much work to do... who the hell buys a house while planning a wedding and changing jobs?  This idiot!  :)

    Why was closing so difficult?? just wondering what I have to look forward to...

    We were supposed to close tomorrow but the seller has been absolutely HIDEOUS the past few weeks. He has been threatening to cancel our contract and it seems like he is just a bipolar man who has seller's remorse. But we are finally set for closing on June 25th hurray!

    When do you guys move in?!?

    Thanks, everyone!!

    Our closing was set for 2:00pm yesterday because the seller's lawyer had a to leave to catch a plane (who schedules a closing prior to having to make a flight?).  Wells Fargo 100% dropped the ball on getting the paperwork and figures over to our lawyer so she could complete the HUD statement and finalize the paperwork... they didn't get her the info until 1:40PM!!!  So my poor lawyer is scrambling like a madwoman to get everything transcribed and printed and FLIES down to the realtor's office (she works out of her home, so closing was at our realtor's).  She doesn't make it until 3:20PM... so us, the realtor, the seller's lawyer, and our Wells Fargo rep (the only competent WF person we dealt with) have been sitting around for an hour and 20 minutes while the seller's lawyer is FLIPPING.OUT.  It was horrible.  We had to BEG him to stay and wait.

    Our Wells Fargo rep's explanation was that our loan was "outsourced" to a main branch in PA where they eventually told him they got "overwhelmed" and the contact over there pretty much fell off the face of the earth.  We had to scramble all this week to get her (the PA rep) documents that they still needed but failed to tell us about.... uhhh the house has been under contract since March and you wait until the week of closing to get everything done?  HORRIBLE.

    Make sure you have a good lawyer for those of you who are currently in the process of buying houses.  Ours really was worth every dime and then some.

    Congrats!  That has to be the best feeling ever!!!! We are waiting until after the wedding to buy a house. You are amazing for balancing wedding planning, new job and house hunting all at the same time! Your house is so pretty!

    Yayy congrats!! Although we're not buying til shortly afterwards, we are making changes around our current apt before my family comes to stay. I feel like an idiot enough already having added that to our full plate. So I slightly feel your pain haha! Good luck girl! :)

    Yes. we are all idiots for doing this. I totally feel you. We closed at the end of last week. and every time i turn around i feel like there is a new thing to be done at the house, something i forgot for the wedding, and a job interview. I cant handle it. 

    But yay! you are finally closed!! woohoo! the house is yours!!!
