Wedding Day Diamonds

Hello ladies,

Has anyone got their engagement and/or wedding rings from wedding day?  My e-ring is not from there but I feel in LOVE with a double sided wrap wedding band, its just more than I wanted to spend...

Are other jewelers better priced?

So far I've been really pleased with their customer service and selection but any feedback on actual buying experience would be great.

Has anyone done their financing for rings?

FI got my e-ring from there and we loved their customer service. We just ordered my weddign band, the designer is from Cali so everytime I wanted to see the ring, they had it shipped in for me, which was really nice of them. But I think my e-ring and wedding band were overpriced. It is a designer ring so I can see why it is more expensive, but the diamonds I have in both bands are teeny tiny. It was the first ring I tried on and we both fell in love with it, not knowing the price. My e-ring was $1800 and my wedding band was $1600 and none of that includes my center diamond.

We financed my wedding band just so FI can have more stuff like that on his credit.

My only complaint is that we wanted to buy his wedding band the same day as mine and we had a special appointment with my ring shipped in and everything but when we got there they had none of the carbon fiber rings we had told our sales lady about. Then she said she would look to see if other stores had any (shouldn't she have done that earlier?) and they didn't have any, so the solution she gave us? We have to look online at the two different bands we wanted and decide which one and buy it, because they couldn't get them in since they are special order when they had them in their stores like 6 months ago. It's kind of annoying....

My engagement and wedding rings are both from Wedding Day.  I LOVE them!  FI and I thought the customer service was great, and they have a much better selection than other stores we looked at.  The only thing I don't like about Wedding Day is that they don't do sizing or rodium-plating in-store.  The thing I do like is that sizing and rodium-plating is FREE.  And unlike most jewelers, you don't have to bring your ring in every six months for an inspection.

Oh so they send them off to be re-plated?  How long does that usually take?

I think it usually takes a week or two.  I don't live in the Twin Cities, so I was without my ring for two weeks.  If you can pick it up the day it returns, you'll be ring-less for less time.  Unfortunately, most jewelers don't do same-day sizing or rodium-plating.  At least with Wedding Day you won't lose your free rodium plating (or warranty) because you miss an inspection . . .

At the Wedding Day I got to, they do the resizing and rodium in store, Eden Prairie, but that is their headquarters.

Golden- my e-ring/wedding band is from Mark Schneider, it is a unique design and all, I LOVE IT, just pretty spendy. I guess it's worth it though, my e-ring is in Cali right now where they are making my wedding band to fit into it perfectly. Mark Schneider, the actual designer looked at my ring and is making small changes to it and is rodium plating it there, but the whole process is taknig longer than expected because of Valentine's day, so I won't have it for 4-6 weeks :(

No, they are pretty set on the price. It doesn't hurt to try but I know my rings were priced and set by the designer.....it says the prices on his website.

My fiance negotiatied quite a bit with my e ring at wedding day! I don't know about the wedding bands. Being that we got a loose diamond, that is where he negotiated. We haven't gotten the wedding bands yet.

We went to Wedding Day to look at rings because they were open on Valentines Day.   The customer service wasn’t great; we were looking at men’s rings and did so for about 10 minutes before someone came to show us any.  The woman who came to help us clearly wanted to be with a different couple looking at e-ring.  The place was great though with free treats.

FI found the ring he liked and it was almost $1,700.  He was worried about pricing; I didn’t think it was that bad for something you would wear forever.  I did however run into an issue with my band.  I just want a plain band and it turns out I like the custom made ones best.  They told me I would have to send my ring away with them for three weeks to have the custom band made.  I didn’t get my ring from them and I have read a couple horror stories from girls who sent their rings off with chain store jewelers who they didn’t buy from.  I decided I would ask Jeffrey Jewelry about my ring (since my e-ring came from them) and would see what they could do about FI’s ring.

I sent Jeffrey’s a picture of the ring FI liked (from Wedding Day’s website).  Wedding Day does have a great selection—there was not many rings made like the one he picked so it was hard to find.  Poor Dana, I sent her an email on Friday asking her if she had a ring like the picture and then called her on Saturday saying “I want to come in an hour, can you have some things pulled?”  She worked it all out for me even on the short notice.  She brought out all her stuff that had a similar design (which wasn’t very much) and tagged a bunch of books.   She managed to find the same ring!  I asked her how much it would be and she told me she would have to call on a weekday to get prices.  She asked me how much Wedding Day wanted and I told her---her Jaw literary dropped.  Then she said something like “That is ridiculous!  I can’t tell you what it will be right now, but I can tell you it will be less.”

I ordered my rings from Jeffrey’s last week.  The grooms ring was just under $300 cheaper than Wedding Day!  I guess the smaller stores can beat their prices. I suppose they have to pay for the free crackers with something.

However, I wanted a plain custom band for my wedding ring and both stores were about the same.  I think Wedding Day’s was a bit cheaper—but the woman was also “best guessing” the cost at Wedding Day.
