Anyone know where to buy pint glasses in bulk on a budget? A friend of a friend got them at a wedding and they had their names/date and it was something that you could really use and keep! Suggestions on reliable places? Or cheap place?
Just FWIW: I wouldn't keep a glass engraved with your names and wedding date or your monogram. Get the glasses if you want, but save the cost of engraving. Just my opinion.
"Trix, it's what they/our parents wanted. Why so judgemental? And why is your wedding date over a year and a half ago? And why do you not have a groom's name? And why have you posted over 12,000 posts? And why do you always say mean things to brides?" palegirl146
I was thinking of using printed hurricane glasses, but with candles inside. Is that something that people will keep and use or is it better to go with no printing and just wrap ribbon or something around them for decoration? I don't want to spend money on getting 300 printed glasses if no one is going to use them. Citygal, if you want them personalized, but not quite as pricey as engraved, I would look at places like http://www.discountmugs.com they do screen printing on glassware.
One of my cousins got married out of town, and we could not attend. I received a small glass, shot sized, engraved with their wedding date & names. It is collecting dust on my shelves.
Consider doing something with your guest's monogram instead of info regarding the wedding. If you want to, buy whatever glass items you want and have them personalized with the guest's last name initial, or keep them plain. You can use glass etching materials, or glass paint.
If you want to personalize things for your wedding party with your wedding info on it, that's another story.
This site has pretty good prices, and everything I've ordered has been fabulous and appreciated by the recipient: www.personalcreations.com
IMO, it's a waste of money to get the glasses engraved with your wedding date. Only our very close family members will appreciate them. Use gift tags to personalize favors.
whenever i wanted something in bulk cheaply, for instace flasks for the whole wedding party, iwould type in wholesale or bulk before the item on the internet. found several diff. sites including amazon. you'd be surprised how cheap they are, however... im not sure they'd be personalized. maybe you could get a monogramed stencil and spray paint each glass. just a few ideas i used for myself.
At this time, I have mismatched dishes and silverware. It's not a big deal because I don't have a nice house or a family. But in the future, I would like everything to match, and an engraved glass with someone elses name on it would be out of place. These are the kinds of things you see cluttering up thrift store shelves.
If you really want to do it, use your guests monogram or something maybe that says love...nothing specific to you. You can get the glasses at the dollar tree, and you can get something called Anchor Etch from Michaels...all you need is some fat masking tape and an exacto knife, and make personalized to the person...if you have a seating chart, you can make sure their glass is in the right spot.
We are doing this for our wedding party gifts. The girls are getting jewelry in a homemade stained glass box etched with the first inital of their name, and the guys are getting beer stines with something personalized between the groom and each guy...like one guy has a nick name, and that is what my fh calls him...so he is going to etch the nickname on that person's cup. Good luck with whatever you decide to do!
