Ok so I was recently told by my fmil that she wants to do family pictures with everybody. As in one of my other post I posted that we weren't really close and so on. After that I started sticking to my guns and putting my foot down. We are now closer than before and working on our relationship. Which I'm happy about. Ok anyways. So she would like family pics. And I'm just not 100 sure if I'm comfortable with that. Ive mentioned it to a couple people and they think that's absolutely crazy and wouldn't do it. What do you guys think? I'm just gonna put my big girl pants on and go for it. What could it hurt?
Re: family pictures
I'm also not a fan of getting my picture taken, but in the grand scheme of things it's not a big deal and it makes others happy.
Upon opening, I seriously thought this was going to be that you were offended because she wanted pics with just FI and not you. It sounded like it was from an episode I saw of Rules of Engagement.
You are going to be married. She's considering you part of the family already. Ignore your co-worker.
June 1, 2013 - finally making it official!

You should just be happy that they want you in it. At FI's sister's wedding, they did a big family photo, I was the only one not in it, and at the time, we were already engaged for a little over a year. So what if they would have told your FI they are doing family photos and you weren't allowed to be in it? How would you feel then?
[QUOTE]What do you mean family pictures? We did family pictures (us with each of our extended families, so four sets) during cocktail hour, this way no one had to show up early. Each one took all of two minutes (our sibs grabbed the appropriate people from the cocktail space, then we got in a group and snapped a few pics), and now we have professionally family portraits. We ordered a bunch and framed them and gave them as Christmas gifts. If this is what your FMIL wants, I'm unsure about why you wouldn't want to do them. Here is one of ours: Look how nice we look. It isn't often you have every all dressed up and a pro photographer at your bec and call. Take advantage, especially if you have your photographer the whole day.
