    OMG! She wasn't invited, and wants to be, so messages you that???? Like you wouldn't remember not sending her an invite!! I was in a similar situation. We had 2 close friends (husband and wife) we stopped talking to them 2 years ago. Every now and then, the wife would text me - but I would give a minimal response. Well, I sent out my invites, and she texted me "I thought you were getting married on an island?" I just never responded. I think she got the message because she never wrote anything else back. Maybe you could just ignore them, too?

    It isn't that we wouldn't want them -- we're just not close and we had to cap our guest list. We see them a few times a year, but only through big group parties, not personally. I feel bad, don't want to offend them...but we just couldn't afford more people, and the ones we did invite are people we see regularly, you know? :( I feel so uncomfortable!!

    Oh... Maybe you could say something like, Due to a budget, we decided to keep things more intimate, and we weren't able to invite everyone we would have like -there are no hard feelings and that he or she was not the only individual that was taken off of the guest list.
    Its very tricky because you don't want to offend them...
