Do your STDs need to match the "theme"?

Hey guys,

So, all the STDs for weddings I have seen are pretty telling of the wedding, at least in the respects that they match the wedding colors. However, the STDs FI and I are thinking don't fit into the feel of our wedding.

We're having a fairly formal reception with a eggplant and creme as our colors. But, these are the STDs we are really considering (clicky!). I think it would be a great tribute to FI and what he loves, but I don't want to give people the wrong impression or get side-eyed when we send out a more formal, purple invitation.
