Inexpensive edible fall favor ideas

I am definitely open to DIY as long as it doesn't require lots of work that must be done close to the wedding date (ex. baking cookies, making caramel apples, etc.)

Here are some ideas I had: little bags of chocolates from a hometown factory or pretzels from a local place (or making my own chocolate-dipped pretzels using them); making peach jam or something along those lines (although by the time I buy enough fruit and jars, it may not be so inexpensive), ordering treats from a local bakery like mini pies or apple tarts, etc.

Any recommendations? (and when I say inexpensive, I'd like to keep it under $2 pp) Thanks!

I like the idea of chocolate dipped pretzels - sweet and salty pleases pretty much everyone!

    Yum, chocolate dipped pretzels!

What about popcorn balls or caramel appels? Very fall-sy.

Jam would be really nice but I could foresee that being a big pain in the butt and wallet!

We did fortune cookies.  A few months before our wedding there was a groupon for about 50% off at Fancy Fortune Cookies. It was a little under a dollar per person and each person received two fortune cookies, a blue one and a green one.  I recommend watching groupon as long as your are flexible.

Even without a groupon, their fortune cookies are 70 cents.

We are doing blueberry jam for our August wedding (actually making it today!), and I can tell you that it can definitely be done for under $2 pp. Ours will be slightly over $1 pp. Really the only things you'll need are the fruit, jars, pectin, and sugar. Well, the canning equipment too, but you probably know someone who could loan theirs to you if you don't have your own? If you decide to go with jelly/jam, I HIGHLY recommend getting your jars at a wholesale place in Lancaster, PA called Fillmore Containers. They are wonderful and SO inexpensive in price! I got 204 jars with lids included (4 oz. jars) for $122 after tax. Everywhere else I have looked for jars doesn't even come near that low of a price. Good luck in deciding! If you have any questions about making jam favors, don't hesitate to message me! :)

Dollar Tree sells Maple Leaf Cookies, you can buy in the store or online. I was originally going to go with a fall theme and put them in a cellophane bag with some ribbon, they are really cute looking and reviews say they taste good!
