I want someone to video the wedding, but I don't want to pay a lot.  I don't need anything done with the video afterwards, I just want the actual ceremony and the speeches at the reception recorded.  Does anyone know of someone who will do this for really cheap?  Any ideas where I could find someone?

    Oh yeah, in the Hampton Roads Area, preferably on the peninsula.

    I just talked to Astro Videography.  They're cheapeast package is $900 for one videographer and one camera to do the ceremony and major parts of the reception.  I'm still researching other videographers myself.

    My wedding was in 2008 and we found a videographer that had pretty reasonable prices ( i couldn't believe) because they are all so expensive-but his work was pretty great considering the affordable price. His name is Ernest and his web-site is www.just4uweddingservices.com

    Thanks for the input!  The just for you wedding services seems to be somewhat reasonable!  I will have to check them out.

    $900 is just way more than what I want to pay.  Thank you though!

    They have a highlights package that covers the ceremony and highlights at the reception starting at $200.  If you aren't looking for a lot they may be perfect for what you are looking for, they are based out of Williamsburg.  I have worked with them both and they are really nice.

    I put an ad on craigslist looking for someone with some videography experience. I said a college student or someone just starting out would be great. I asked for references and examples and named my price $400. I got 12 people that responded and some with a lot more experience then i was expecting. I said I would love to write testimonial and they could even use some of the footage for their portfolio. I have to sit down this weekend and decide who we want to go with. This is an extra bonus for us. Not something that we would normally do. i jsut thought I would give it a shot. What have I got to lose? I have had lots of my friends complain about their wedding videos and they paid $2,000 or more. I think that if this will help get them started in the field they will really want to do their very best so they can get some rave reviews. Worth a shot. Even if it doesn't turn out perfect I know we will be happy...it is better than nothing.
