DJ Comparison

Does anyone have any positive or negative experience with either Tone Productions or Music by Design. We can't seem to decide between the two.

Music by Design only assigns one DJ (many other companies do a DJ and an assistant). Does that REALLY matter from people's experiences?

Re: DJ Comparison

  • We booked Music by Design.  We really liked the guy we met with (Jeff) and he will be our DJ.  Our wedding isn't until April so all I can say is I hope we made the right choice!

  • We are using "Just Press Play" google them. We liked the idea because we want to pickout a lot of the songs and this allows you to do that without looking like an overbearing bride :)
  • I looked into Just press play, but I am not sure it's for me. I want an actual DJ there emceeing stuff for the night..

I can pick songs myself from both companies and prices are pretty similar. I am just not sure if I think "just a dj" is good enough vs a person who will continusly rev up the crowd and so forth

</div><div>I have seen good reviews on the companies you are considering, but from what I have read from some brides is that if you ask for a lot of set songs then the DJ gets upset because they aren't able to decide what to play. </div><div>
</div><div>The cost for just press play for us with a DJ the whole time is $390 and that includes adding extra sound equipment for our ceremony string duo. That is much less and we were trying to save money. </div>
  • We are using Answer Back Entertainment. We have seen them at several weddings and they are very good! The DJ/owner is really fun and gets the guests dancing and keeps them dancing. They also offered uplighting which we went with as well. I personally think there has to be someone there to announce our bridal party and to get the dancing going.
