Fake eyelashes... I may be a convert.

Okay, so I was a bit stuck up about the whole fake eyelashes on your wedding idea. You know, like "what? who needs that? So excessive and ... fake!"

And then this weekend my friend had a bachelorette party, and my sister called and told me we're wearing fake eyelashes and oh, here are yours. So I begrudgingly put them on ... and holy moley I loved them.

I guess these were "good" fake eyelashes, because they looked really real and didn't come off a bit the whole night. I have suuuper long, thick eyelashes naturally, but they have blonde tips and stick straight out, so I always, always have to use an eyelash curler (and the curl never stays).

So ... rethinking the whole fake eyelashes thing. I think I'm going to go for them! Anyone else?

Hmm...I'd love to see how I look with them.  Although I have long dark lashes that naturally curl.  I just wish my the hair on my head would curl. HA.  But anyways I'll try them out but I don't think I'll end up needing them.

I am in LOVE with fake eyelashes, I pretty much put them on for any nights out - and they can be reused a ton of times too.  They aren't the old-fashioned super-obviously-fake ones!!  They can be very tastefully done.  I wore them as a bridesmaid in a friend's wedding, and in the professional pictures, my eyes completely "popped" much more than anyone else's.  I absolutely plan to wear them for my wedding... besides the fact that I expect to be crying off most of my mascara!!

I think good fake eyelashes are amazing!! To me, my eyelashes are the one thing I don't like to leave the house with out putting some mascara on! I've only worn fake eyelashes a couple of times but I am planning on using them for the wedding! LOVE

I wore fake lashes for my wedding and LOVED them!  I have dark, long lashes already, so I thought the same thing, I don’t need these! Well, a few girlfriends and Smart & Chic stylist Amber convinced me to try them out.  My husband said the day after the wedding, “ You should wear lashes more often. They look awesome!” Also, it’s fun to glam it up on your wedding day. I have yet to wear them again since the wedding, it’s been less than a month, but I try them out again!!

Oh, I freaking LOVE fake eyelashes! Check out all the different MAC lashes -- they have some that are more natural looking. I'm using the always-popular MAC #33 for our wedding :)

I think I need pictures before I can render an opinion. :)

I'm still undecided. I have super thick, long eyelashes, but they're very 'blah' still.

I opted for the little lash clusters vs a full lash thingy for my day. It gave me just enough "pop" without looking tooo over-the-top. You couldn't really tell that I was wearing falsies unless you were like all up in my face, but it definitely made a difference in pics. Love 'em!

Awesome, thanks everyone! I'm going to check out the MAC lashes. I'm just so bad at applying them.

Another question: I'm having Cathi of Smart and Chic do my hair/make-up ... If I bring my OWN lashes will they charge a lot for applying them? Otherwise I could try to slap 'em on before I go (but then I'd have to know how to do it well).

I use the cheap ones from Target, and they work perfectly - if you don't want to spend a ton on expensive ones =)  Try them out before the wedding and see what you think!

A makeup artist will usually charge you about $5 to apply lashes if you bring your own. I think it's worth the money, especially because I suck at applying lashes :)

I was just about to post something about this, but I'll just add to yours..

I love false eyelashes, I have these little stubby things on my eyelids that you couldn't even really call eyelashes.. so I wear they all the time.  One of my mom's friends told us about this place you can go and they apply the individual eyelash extensions for $20, and they last two weeks!  I've looked into these before and they usually are around $300, so when I heard the price, I went that day!

At first, I was so in love.  They were so full and pretty, they weren't uncomfortable at all, and I felt like it made a huge difference in my looks. They put them on with this black glue so I needed no eyeliner or anything.  FI noticed immediately and LOVED them, I felt great.

That was Saturday.  Now, I am in misery.  They scratch and itch and look kinda weird.  When I wake up my eyes are glued shut and super gross.  I have tried everything to get them off, and NOTHING works.  I've pulled out the little eyelashes I did have trying to get they off.  I got the inner two or three ones off after hours of soaking and pulling and prying, which were the ones that bugged me the most, and now its a little more bearable.

Anyways.. point.  Learn from my stupid, stupid mistake.  The ones you apply and remove yourself are great, but do not do the ones that stay on for weeks.  I don't even want to come to the GTG anymore, you all are gonna laugh at my silly looking weirdo eyes. :P

LOVE me some fake eyelashes! I'm a theater gal though so I'm used to them!

I think I'm going to use them, but not a full set, just some individual ones.  My lashes are already fairly long and pretty dark, but mascara doesn't really make my eyes stand out enough for what I want in our pictures.  I've never worn them before, but I'm willing to try.

I never used them before this past weekend.  I had my hair/makeup trial with Amber at Smart & Chic and wanted to give them a try.  They were great, easy to wear and take off.  I actually slept with them on so I could wear them to a friend's wedding the next day, they stayed on and were beatiful.  I highly recommend even to those with doubts.  I have pretty full dark eyelashes, but they gave that little extra pop.

I just had my hair/makeup trial with Cathi at Smart and Chic and was very nervous about fake eyelashes, but decided to give them a try and they looked and felt great! I'll be using them for the wedding day, I'm just going to use the ones Cathi had becaue I don't trust myself in buying them!

DebbieUpper - Cathi did my makeup, too.  It was $5 is you provide your own lashes and she puts them on, or $10 if you use her lashes.  I had a couple cheap sets from plast plays I've done (I'm a theater girl, too!) but I thought it was worth it to use hers.  She had a couple cool options.

Enchanted - thanks so much for the heads up!  I've always thought about trying those...I'll steer clear now!

Thanks for the info, Jen! I wondered if it would be a big difference - $10 is pretty cheap and as long as they are good, I might as well!

    Thanks for the advice, everyone!

Just wanted to chime in that I had individual fake eyelashes from Smart & Chic on my wedding day too and I loved them! The full strip lashes normally bug me and make my eyes water but I loved the ones I got and you couldn't feel them once they were on!
