:::Brea and everyone else flying United:::

Just wanted to wish you good luck with United...they changed our flights AGAIN..this time much worse...they had us arriving at 6:40 pm when our original arrival was 1:55 pm with one stop through Chicago now two stops. Since i am traveling on points from Canada I cancelled my flight and booked on Air Canada as they are having an amazing seat sale...$299 each way...i have never seen this before. We will be giving up our first class seats on United for coach on AC but worth it imho as flying domestic first class on United which i did 2 years ago from either LAX or SF to Kauai was not all that.  Due to the merger they are rescheduling flights like every 5 seconds and was told we may get a good flight again but with the seat sale and guaranteed only one stop we just could not pass that up.  Best of luck! J.

Happy to hear that you got off United. We're going to be stuck with them since we booked our trip through expedia (which I'm very seriously regretting now). They also told me the last time we talked not to worry about the flights because they could change again between now and when we leave. They said around 2-3 months out we should work on getting everything confirmed.

Right now it's not TOO bad. We've got a somewhat long layover, but it's not as bad as it was. Hopefully no more unexpected changes :)

I am so glad I am not going to have to go through this flying Hawaiian Airlines.  They have direct flights from Portland and they fly out so many times a day from here that if we got bumped back a flight, it wouldn't be a big deal. I'm so signing us up for first class, too!

Kimmy, you are so lucky!  Hawaiian used to fly out of here and their planes are nice and the staff even nicer!  Alaska Air isn't nearly as nice, but I know everything will go smoothly with them out of Anchorage.

Good luck to all you United gals, it sounds like a huge mess!

If it gives anyone peace of mind I flew United to my wedding a few weeks ago and it was fine and they were super nice about putting my dress in the first class coat cabin.

My only recommendation is to bring your own food - none of the domestic airlines serve to/from Hawaii so on the way out we brought food and were fine but on the way back we forgot.  We didn't want to but decided to buy food on the plane but by the time they got to our row in the back of the plane they were basically out of meals, that was a looooong flight back.

Luckily I flew US Airways. I've had problems with United in the past. I wanted to book Hawaiian but they were more expensive.
