Workout Accountability : Tuesday

Well, at least we're one day closer to the weekend.

Morning, ladies!

Eating and workout went well yesterday.  I upped the weight on some of my shoulder exercises so I'm waiting for the burn to kick in later.  Today is yoga day, which is apparently essential to the p90x program, but I still have a hard time buying into it.  Plus, it's a really long workout.  Nevertheless, I'll give it all I can.

    last night was zumba night...I mentioned this on another thread but I have the coordination and grace of an awkward 12 year old boy at his first school dance.
    But I still go every Monday and I still come home in a sweaty puddle.
    Tonight I don't have anything planned but I think I might still go to the gym just for some treadmill-Im camping all weekend and losing my friday workout so I want to squeeze some extra in this week.

    Update on my weekend gunman story:  the gunman turned himself in, still not sure why he did it but rumors are around that it was gang related. worst part, one of the victims was a 12 year old boy, he was shot in the head  :( but he is expected to recover.

    Whats going on with Canada these days? Mall shootings AND we have a psycho killer that dismembered a guy and mailed his body parts around (he was captured yesterday as well)  I thought  my country was known for being nice and eating maple syrup?

  • I did fine.. although am pissy about a couple women at my gym.. 
    I did two step classes and two yoga classes. FOr step in the pm, I wore a lulu skirt I recently bought, and these "older" women scoffed at my skirt saying how "skanky" it was.. Loudly. And acted like I couldn't hear.. REALLY?! Why trash tallk.. it's a freakin' skirt.. and I have a ring on my finger.. obv I'm not trying to show off in STEP to aaaalll the ONE guy that comes. RUde.. 
    I was super embarrassed until class started my instructor kept commenting on how adorable it was.. that helped a little and I could tell the ladies were not so pleased with themselves after that.. hah

    today is the start of finals.. bleh.. 
    but I'm not allowing myself to go to the store so I don't buy crap, stress food haha.. 
    Tonight is combat and pump :) 
  • I did fine last night.  I made some banana "ice cream" with a scoop of PB and nutella in it that I can't wait to eat tonight (portion controlled, of course!).  Frozen bananas are my new favorite thing.

    Tonight should be yoga but I have to run out to my parents' house to get a package I mailed to them so I'll miss class.  It's cool here, so I can probably do either Jillian or yoga tonight at home!

    lobsters I LOVE when I can up my weight! It always makes me feel so accomplished.

    souptin I have been following that story about the Canadian man who dismembered that guy and mailed his body parts. Insane!!! Glad they finally caught him geez.

    So I am still sort of recovering from basically no sleep this weekend and I totally overslept this morning! Stupid me, I hate when I do that. I still made it to the gym but only for a quick 5k on the treadmill.

    My brother is still in town from his wedding. He will be deploying to Afghanistan at the end of this month. My family is getting together again tonight to see him off before he leaves!

  • Firsttimer thats got to be jealousy!  If I were you I would have turned around and said something like, "Im right here, I can hear you" or something like that...or at least given them the death stare. Bitches be crazy!  and apparently the older you get the crazier you are. sorry you had to deal with that.
    Also, LOVE Lulu products, just too poor to buy them-when I reach a few goals I am going to reward myself with something from there.

  • So much exciting stuff going on with everyone!

    My allergies are driving me CRAZY. I looked through my apartment and could only find drowsy allergy meds, so I'm sitting at work with itchy eyes and nose and can't do anything about it! Arrrgh.

    Last night was good, even though my allergies were acting up. I went shopping with a friend and ended up going to her gym with her for my workout. Got 25 minutes on the stairmaster and 30 on the elliptical. By the time I was done with cardio I was wiped out so I didn't get any weights in (not to mention it was almost 10pm!). The equipment was also obviously different than what I'm used to using at my gym - the stairmaster seemed too easy and the elliptical felt too hard....I guess it's good to have the different experiences though to mix it up?

  • Sunburn from sunday took it all out of me so no workout yesturday. I ate well though.

    Today is my last speedwork before Sunday's Race :).

    Did another C25K workout last night and am so proud of myself for sticking to it. My eating has not been bad this week so far (my weeks are Fri - Thr), looking forward to weigh in on Friday.

    firsttimer--If they do it again, I think I'd say something.  How rude!

    I ate well yesterday.  Trying to get back in control.  I also did the elliptical and abs, so I had a good workout.  Today is weights and some type of cardio.  I feel like it's crunch time, so I'm going to work as hard as I can for those dress fittings starting in July.

  • Firsttimers - Can you say JEALOUS? That's for sure what their problem is. I am positive you looked great in it, and not the least bit skanky!
    Souptin - I know right?! I keep thinking what is going on here? Is there something in the water? But then I just decided, there are bad people everywhere. Mostly, because there are drugs everywhere. That is my thinking. And mmm maple syrup.. just had some in my oatmeal :)

    Yesterday I went for a run/walk. I intended on running the whole thing, but that didn't happen because I upped my speed again for the first 3km and then my legs were concrete after that! I usually go about 6.5km/hour, but yesterday I was going 9km/hour, not like pushing to go that fast, but it just felt right after a couple minutes or so! Anyway, I ended up doing a mix of walking and jogging for the last 2km so that's why I'm calling it a run/walk.

    Today I go to my mom's school to hang out with the lil grade oners and then work tonight, so not much for exercise happening for me today. Eating will be good though!

  • I'm working from home today so my normal 12 mile bike ride to and from work isn't going to happen.   I did get up and do about 30 minutes on the wii this morning.  Hopefully can do some this evening as well.  

    Yesterday I finally joined MyFitnessPal.  Hoping the accountability of that will keep me on track next week when I'm travelling.

  • I count jumping on the trampoline with my son for an hour as a work out so that was my work out last night.

    Staying true to my low carb diet (thank GOD for the Atkins chocolate bars!) and I plan on being on the treadmill during lunch today.

  • meh.. Thanks ladies! I know, they were just being dumb and catty.. I'm just.. sooo not in the mood this week to deal with that crap. 

    kwitherington you can totally work it out to make it more 400/400/400+snacks. That's about what I do, and honestly I feel like I'm ALWAYS eating. It's an easier adjustment than you think! :) 

    Ash I'm am envious of your trampoline haha

    dewin- GL on your race this weekend! So exciting!

    Souptin- lulu is a great way to reward yourself! H let's me buy lulu because a lot of my clothes don't fit well anymore, and I spend every day in work out gear at somepoint in time.. He humours my addiction, thankfully.. haha

    Sarah, I'm envious of your running skills.. And it's always good to mix things up like that anyway.. even if you couldn't run the whole thing, your body probably appreciated the twist. 

    maribeth- I feel you on the lack of sleep.. Finals is sucking the life out of me this week! 
    *positive vibes* to your brother as he heads into a deployment. Hopefully it'll be uneventful and fly by for him (and your family)  
  • Day 9 of Insanity done and feelng a little discourage becuase havent lost any lbs yet but i can feel a difference in my muscles so hopefully it was just a trade off of muscle for fat.

    Going rock climbing tonight and excited for how much fun it is along with being a great workout!

    soup - I will still always think of canada as land of maple syrup and happy people.  (and snow, and bears)  hope things settle down!

    sj-I know the feeling!  We're part way through week two of p90x and only a half a lb lost, but I can feel my muscles burning, and know that I'm building like crazy.  I can't wait to take measurements again just to see something happening!

  • Happy Tuesday!

    Well yesterday I went for a walk for about an hour. Foot is healing nicely, but I hate having to take antibiotics... I think I still have 4 days left of those.

    Today I went to the gym during my lunch hour and it was awesome! I loved being able to get in there really quick and I think the idea that I only had about 35 minutes to get in a good workout really pushed me to do some high intensity interval circuit training. I also found this neat product called "Paper Shower" where I could essentially freshen up without having to take a full on shower. I was literally in and out of the gym in an hour and back at the office where I then had lunch at my desk (a lovely turkey sandwich with avocado and spinach). I'm definitely going to do the gym at lunch from now on. :-)
