Shower games?

My MOH wanted a few suggestions. Can you all help me think of some fun shower games.
I'm not really into the game involving toilet paper. What else can you think of that is exciting and gets everyone acting silly?

Thanks!

Re: Shower games?

  • I like the how well do the bride and groom know one another game.. sort of like a newlywed Q&A.   I also saw online a scattagories game using the brides name or her new last name as the letters and then different questions down the sides.
  • We had three games at mine. My favorite was a memory lane game. Each guest wrote down a memory they had of a time with me, and then one of my BMs read it aloud and I had to guess who wrote it. I kept all of them and I think they'll be fun to look back on.

We also did a game where I had to answer 20 questions ahead of time, and everyone at the shower then had 5 minutes to guess what my answers were. It was pretty fun, too. At one point my MOH/sister was arguing with me about who my favorite actor is (she put my favorite actor from when I was in HS, but it's since changed). It was kind of funny.

The third game we did was just a game where you had to match a love song to the movie that it was from. It was fun, but probably the least exciting b/c it wasn't really interactive or personalized for the bride.

  • We're planning a version of the "who am I?" game. Where each person has a card with the name of a person (in this case a famous couple) written on it taped to their back or forehead. Then they have to ask other people yes or no questions to figure out who they are. If you get a "no" answer you have to go ask a different person. Once you figure it out you sit down. This way everyone has to talk to everyone else and it can get really fun. You can do a prize for the person who finished first if you want to.

  • At mine we did a "How well do you know the bride and groom?" game.  Whoever go the most right got prizes.  We also had gift bingo cards.  Each person had different cards and when I opened a gift, if it was on their card they could cross it off.  When they had five in a row, they called out bingo and got a prize.  It made me opening presents go by faster for guests and made it more entertaining.

  • This was fun. My BMs made me wear an apron with a bunch of kitchen supplies in it while I mingled and greeted everyone. Then I took it off. Everyone had to write down as many things in the apron as they could remember. The top few people got a gift bag. Here's an apron shot:

  • We did trivia at my shower this past weekend.  It was a mix of pop culture, traditions, and how well you know the couple and all wedding related.  It was a good mix and everyone loved it! It also worked because a couple people that didn't know us as well could still play because of the other categories and not be totally out of the ability to win.

  • THANKS!!!  These are great ideas.

I'll let my MOH know. I always find my answers on this board!

A girl I work with said she's done this at a few showers and enjoyed it so I wanted to pass it along to my MOH. Do you have a template for the bingo card you could share?

  • We are going to play Bingo that has the gift registry items on it. So when gifts are opened people will mark on their bingo boards. Trying to get gift opening to be more interactive and get guests involved.
