Cameron Estates in Mt Joy

My Fi and I made an appoitment to tour the place on Sunday. I've been doing some reasearch and from what I've seen, after the contract is signed, they're impossible to get ahold of whether though phone or email. Does anyone have an personal experience with them?

We went and toured the venue, and I wasn't impressed. The venue was beautiful, but the staff was kinda rude. The thing that bothered me the most was that they were giving us the tour WHILE a wedding was getting ready. So this poor bride is getting her pictures taken and getting ready to get married and here comes this giant group of people staring at her and her bridesmaids on her big day. It was really tacky. I felt so awful for the bride, I had no idea they would do a tour during a wedding. If you are paying that much money for a venue you shouldn't have to deal with outside people staring at you right before you get married. Again the place is beautiful but I was really dissapointed with the staff.

I agree with alpinker. We got a tour an hour before a wedding was suppose to start. The lady who showed us around, even took us in the building where the reception was held, as people were going crazy setting things up. She should have been worried about helping these people, then giving us a tour. If I would have known we would of came a different day. In my opinion I think the price is beyond ridiculous, but  that may just be me.

Thanks so much! We have a tour set up for Sunday, maybe we should reconsider. Any input of the Cork Factory Hotel?

I toured the Cork Factory-the lady I dealt (Lindsey) was nice, but she didn't explain anything or walk around the space. She gave us the packets of information and had us sit at a table and read them. The space is beautiful, very rustic, but just wasn't for us. I do know that they've been booking up very quickly.

My friend is getting married here next May and she loves the place and the people. They are having their cake done through the Cork Factory as well and that turned out to be a bit of a problem (i.e. they had to track down the chef because 3 weeks after their meeting the couple still hadn't recieved a quote and then they found out that they had to put out a 50% deposit right away).

When I toured Cameron everyone was wonderful and couldnt be nicer.  We signed the contract and any time we need anything or have questions, they always call us back or return emails within a very short time.  They have been extrremely helpful and seem to go the extra mile.  They did say they went through management changes within the last year or two.  Maybe it was a while ago that you toured it?

Cameron Estates rubbed me the wrong way with the informal group tour and lack of personality.

Cork Factory was very rustic and pretty, but there aren't many options for pictures.  I also did not want the guests to sit in their reception chairs for the ceremony.

The change of management was probably my problem we toured about a year and a half ago, so that would make sense.

We toured the venue in July so I don't know if the management had changed at that point. We are getting married at the Cork Factory's sister site The Hamilton Ballroom. I'm happy with everything so far, and I know the Cork Factory is absolutely beautiful.

I have heard that once you are in a contract with them...you are IN a contract with them...meaning that making changes or cancelling can be a big headache.  No one thinks they'll have to cancel their wedding, or reschedule...but...you never know! Good luck!

When u sign the contract you make a payment to them (i think it was like 2k).  If you then cancel the wedding, you only get those funds back if they resell the date.

We toured the Cameron Estate Inn and rather liked the group tour. We learned a lot from questions asked by other couples that we would not have asked or thought of. The grounds are beautiful and the staff is great.

We signed the contract and have had no problems and have changed several items for the wedding and have had no problems at all. Our emails and phone calls are answered quickly and we could not be happier.
