   Have been to 2 plated dinner weddings there and they were very nice.  Seemed Appropriate and like a nice formal affair in an elegant setting... 

  Also did the grand buffet down at the Poppy and the food was much more varied and really delicious.  That made us feel a bit more like a walk about cocktail deal and noticed some people were a bit shy about filling their plates and or going back for more... 

  
  

  So really the choice is how formal an affair you want to have.   I think I would go for the seated dinner up in the country club just to keep the soft elegance going on...  

  The service people were fantastic and the food amazing...I kind of liked being spoiled by them.

  We booked our reception at the Club at N.S. and are opting for the Grand Reception.  We wanted a 'not-so-stuffy' feel to our reception and felt that the carving stations was more low key and would give guests an opportunity to mingle with each other as they went up for their meals (instead of being stuck at their table). We also felt like there was more of a variety of food selections with the Grand Reception.  Besides my FI like the fact that he could go up for seconds or thirds or fourths. :-)

  Thanks linsousa..I am so on the fence. I loved the varierty of choices with the grand reception too! When is your wedding date?

  Hi luckywing7!  Our date is 6-16-12 so we still have a little ways to go but The Cape is such a popular destination we felt we had to book early.  Right now we're looking for a photographer.  Have you book yours yet?

  Awesome, you're the Saturday before us! Our is friday, 6/22/12..yes we did book a photographer, I was looking for one in February and my first choice was already taken, so I hit the panic button to find a new one. We are using Erica Ferrone out of the Boston area. Did you find one yet? There are so many great ones to choose from! Good luck in your search!

  Hello luckywing7-
  Congrats on your engagement and upcoming wedding! Although I can't answer you about the grand reception just yet- my wedding is September 16th this year at The Poppy, and my Fiance and I are having the stations rather than plated meals for the wedding! We're super excited because I've heard people rave about the food there! We thought it went well with the more "laid-back" atmosphere, and there are soooo many different items that are included for the food, that it seemed like a better choice! I'll log back in after my wedding and post some reviews! Keep your eye out!
