Does this ruin my whole theme?

My fiance and I are still debating food for the reception...yeah...19 days to go and I wish we had this figured out! lol  But our wedding theme is everything fall and I was going to do a "Thanksgiving" type of meal, ie-turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, corn, etc.  I wanted to do this family style to get the whole feel of it as well, but after speaking to the caterer, family style is not going to happen.  So, after we found this out, and my fiance's mother trying to omit one thing from the menu we wanted and adding another (they are paying for the reception, so I'm trying to just roll with the flow here), we discussed doing a full fledged Polish meal...as both my fiance and I are Polish.  I was going to do a Pumpkin Cream Cheese Dip and Gingersnaps as part of our appetizers, along with fruit, cheese, meat, veggies, etc. and an Apple Cider punch to keep with the whole fall food deal, but I'm afraid to do the Pumpkin Creamcheese Dip, Gingersnaps, Apple Cider punch if we do a Polish meal as I don't think it goes well with Polish food.  To me, Apple Cider punch and kielbasa and/or cabbage is just eeewwww!  lol

So, by doing a Polish meal, does that ruin my whole theme or should I just go for it?  The few people that we have talked to about it said that they love the idea.

So, any opinions/input here would be appreciated.  TIA!! :)

I voted for Polish.  But I am Polish, so maybe a little biased.  I prefer kielbasa over turkey, and I'm having kielbasa at my own wedding. So it could be a biased opinion...

I think pumpkin and apple cider go fine with Polish food.  I would totally drink apple cider while eating kielbasa... but again... may be biased opinion. lol

I voted for that Thanksgiving dinner...I'm Polish so I love Polish food, but the Thanksgiving dinner sounds so cute and I love your ideas for appetizers. In the end I don't think the vote is going to matter...It is your choice!!!

Honestly, I really don't like either type of food (I know, I'm super weird) but I think you should just go with what you want.  So, just go for it!

I think either way would still be wonderful!  The thanksgiving day meal obviously "goes" but you can still have an amazing Polish dinner in the fall with all your fall decor to go with it...and it wouldn't take away any from your wedding!

Thank you for all the input ladies!!  We have decided to go with a Polish theme, but still incorporate fall flavors into appetizers and have an apple cider punch.  I hope it all comes together good!!
