Intro and Liberty House Question

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to say hi and introduce myself!  I got engaged two weeks ago and I'm just starting to think about planning the wedding and I'm totally overwhelmed!  I'm looking to have the wedding next summer/early fall possibly in South Jersey but I also wanted to look at the Liberty House.

Has anyone had their wedding at Liberty House or does anyone know a general estimate of the cost?  We'll probably have a Saturday night wedding with 150-175 ppl.

    LH is notorious around here for being overpriced with just ok food.

    My FI & I were also considering LH because I was set on City views for oure reception, but I was concerned bc I have heard on more than one occassion that the food is not that great, which is a huge deal for us for our wedding. We ended up booking at Waterside and I honestly cannot say enough good things about them so far! They have been so easy and accomodating to work with, it has definitely made things easier for us. Also, I had dinner there a few weeks ago with my family and it was delicious.

    For an evening wedding, they are $175 to $185 pp before the 22% tax and 7% gratuity. I have also heard that you are paying for the view and the food is mediocre.

    We considered that also but it is too overpriced like PP said, closed to $200pp for this summer.  that was quoted last yr.

    Oops forgot to mention.. we are having 150-170 and LH was quoted at $175-$185 PP before tax and gratuity (this was for a Friday evening wedding). I know someone who was married there in 2011 on a Saturday and they paid $220 pp.

    They wanted $175 plus taxes and tips for a Saturday night in March.

    The Liberty House owns The Stone House too btw. Everyone is right, a lot of money for atmosphere, the food is poor. My friend hated that people hung outside looking at the NY skyline and didn't care about her wedding events.
