My thunder has been stolen! (A double-purpose post)

Ugh.  GUYS.  My cousin just announced that his girlfriend is pregnant.  The baby will be born a couple months before my wedding.  HOW COULD HE DO THIS TO ME?!?!  I'm convinced he only knocked her up because he's jealous of all the attention I'm getting being the first "grandchild" to get married.

...

Of course, I'm totally kidding.  The pregnancy is real, but I'm actually giddily excited about it.  Gosh, I love babies that aren't mine.

So, my first reason for posting is to share my happy news.  I'm going to be an Aunt(!!)...  sorta.  I'll actually be a first cousin once-removed, but I'm close enough to my cousins that I'll expect that kid to call me Aunt.

In other news, I tried on some dresses yesterday.  I went to a bridal expo on Saturday (and met Jester there!) and the lady at the David's Bridal booth pretty much wouldn't let me leave until I set an appointment to come in.  So I went, and I didn't buy anything, but I thought I'd AW my two favorites.  They're both from the Vera Wang line.







So that's how my week is going so far.  How about everyone else?

    Yay babies!  And yay dresses!  You look pretty.
    My week is ok, still waiting to hear about a job offer.  And two of my friends just got engaged in the last couple of hours.   And about 5 minutes ago I learned that my family may be coming to see me (finally!) so I'm having a pretty good day.

    Can I be indignant on your behalf?  hahaha congrats on being an Auntie!  High end taste for VW eh....

    My week has been splendid thus far.  Well FI took me out for sushi last night and then let me loose in Target so I bought some things like actual yoga clothes for when I go to Bikram yoga.  Also I'm looking forward to going camping this weekend.  BIGGEST AW news I have is the possibility of signing the loan docs tomorrow and closing escrow on the house this WEEK.  Yay!

    Yay for babies that aren't yours! Love the dresses, especially the second one. Everything's going ok here, it's just stupid hot and humid and we don't have AC. So it's been ice cream for dinner this week :)

    Those dresses look amazing on you Elle. I secretly (ok, not-so-secretly) want you to go try on my dress and fall in love with it, too :) It's fairly similar to the ones you AW'd above.

    I love both of the dresses. I would have to say my favorite, though, is the second one - beautiful! And you look lovely in it :)

    Babies! Do you think the bundle of joy will be at your wedding? I just think babies are SOOO cute!!

    I LOVE the two dresses. I like that style on you A LOT!! Do you?

    I know- isn't it an amazing?! And there are literally hundreds of home in the Colorado Springs for less then 200K. That's one of the biggest reasons we moved out of California.

    Andrew is able to put a pretty substantial down..erm...down...So our mortgage would be less then $500 (!!!).

    And I know- I've been totally lame lately...I think it goes back to the funk. Can you believe I haven't congratulated SKP yet? UGH!

    ZOMG Elle. Congrats on being an Auntie-to-be. :)

    Both those dresses look great on you! I like the belt on the first, but the second dress overall.

    I'm chilling here with some ridiculously awesome butternut squash ravioli I got from the local grocery co-op/organic place. It's sooooo good I wanna marry it.

    And yay for dresses!  I really like the dresses on you, but I am not in love with those belts.  I think you can do better in belt world.  Really, after Chelsea wore one last year, they exploded....  But, that's just my opinion.  :)

    I like the second dress, Elle. I think the black belt draws the focus away from your pretty face, which is why I don't like it as well as the other.

    I'm just back from a fabulous long weekend in Vegas (love it!) and watching Harry Potter (still don't like the epilogue).
