Honeymoon time?

Seeing a pp say how early they have to fly out for their honeymoon got me thinking. What time do you leave for your honeymoon if you leave the day after the wedding?

I would NEVER book a super early morning flight, i would leave a day later if that was the case. I just could not do it after not getting to bed till 3 am (here the receptions don't end till 1 am then there is the "wedding night" & winding down)

Re: Honeymoon time?

  • Our flight takes off at 12 but we're leaving at 6am. It was cheaper for us to drive 3 hours to Chicago. Our cocktail hour will start at 4 so I hope we can stick to a traditional 5 hour reception and be done by 10
  • Our wedding is a Saturday night and we are having a day after BBQ on Sunday.  Then we are working a normal week and leaving the following tuesday (the 10th) at 8am I think to go to CA.  We chose to wait because FI always has a busy first few days of the month (he works in accounting) and the resort I work with has their annual 4th of July fireworks usually the Tuesday right around the 4th.  It's a HUGE moneymaking day so I wanted to work.  I could make an extra $400-600 in one day!
  • I'm one of those crazy ones. Wedding is Saturday, our flight leaves for jamacia at 6am sunday. We wanted to have all the time possible in jamacia and a Monday flight was $200 more a person. Soo works for us!
  • Our wedding is on a Saturday night but we are leaving for our honeymoon on Monday. We haven't gotten our tickets yet, but my parents are throwing a cookout the next day so we will be there. I am hoping when we do book a flight that it is not super early either.

<div>same here. our flight leaves at 7 on Sunday morning. Our cruise leaves Monday morning so Sunday was our only option for flying down. We didn't want to wait too late in the day on Sunday in case flights get delayed and it starts the whole snowball effect thing.</div>

We are leaving the Monday after the wedding, a 7:00am flight.

On Sunday, the day after the wedding, we will be having breakfast for our OOT guests. After breakfast I have a hair appointment made to get some of my hair chopped off! I have been growing it out specifically for the wedding and I don't think I want to go to the Carribean with all of it since it will be so hot!  The rest of our Sunday will be spent making sure everything is packed and set for the honeymoon and then Sunday evening my Mom is driving us to the airport.

We are staying overnight at one of the airport hotels and taking a shuttle to catch our early flight Monday morning. We should get to our resort around 10am so we will have pretty much the whole day on our first day there:)

  • We're having our "AHR" Sunday night, then flying out Monday morning, I think at 8!
  • Our flight is at 9am and we'll have to leave the hotel we're staying at the night of the wedding at about 7 to get to the airport and get through customs and what not.
  • I also would never have an early morning flight the day after. We live 2 hours from the airport so that would just be terrible for us.

We arent leaving until the Monday after our wedding.

  • We have a Saturday night wedding, so we are leaving early Monday morning instead of trying to leave the day after the wedding so we can have family brunch the next day and open cards/gifts.

  • we are having a saturday night wedding and leaving sunday in the early evening for fiji. . .thing is, we pass the international date line, so we leave sunday and don't get in until TUESDAY!! the flight is about 13 hours, plus a couple of hours layover in LA, and our first flight leaves around 6pm.
My FBIL (Fi's brother) and FSIL got married last year and had a brunch type thing at his parents' house with all the leftover food and cake and opened their wedding gifts. It was really cool, since most of FI's family lives in town a lot of them came over and got to hang out and watch them open the gifts, so I think we're going to do the same thing before we head out for the airport.

  • Our time really just depends on which flight we get and what time we need to be at the airport because of it.  Right now, the flights that work best for us leave between 6:30 and 8am so we'll be staying at a hotel near the airport to allow us to get some extra sleep in the morning.
