Father of the Bride

Most weddings I have been to have the GMs and Groom in black suits/tuxes and the father of the bride is generally matching.  I don't know if this was planned or most guys have black suits.  Should I dress my dad in the same outfits that my GMs will wear?  Navy coat with kakhi pants.  I think if he is wearing black it would look weird in pictures next to the others AND it will be really HOT (june).  Regardless, I'm most likly getting his outfit anyways. My dads not a dress-up kinda guy he is mostly jeans+button up work shirt.

    Your dad sounds like my dad. He didn't even wear a tux when he married my mom. I let him pick between our wedding colors for his vest and tie. He chose to match the GM. I would just ask him what his preference is.

    My dad didn't match the groomsmen & neither did DH's dad. They wore suits that complemented what our mom's wore.

    The groomsmen wore black tuxes with green ties. My dad was in a Khaki suit since my mom wore a brown dress. DH's dad wore a navy tux with a blue tie since DH's mom wore a blue dress.

    Of course, they already owned those suits. So if you have to buy him something to wear anyways, it might be easier to just go with what the groomsmen are wearing. We didn't see any reason to make our fathers rent a tux when they both have closets full of very nice suits.

    don'tworrylover- that sounds nice how it panned out with the outfits for the FoB and FoG.

    FI's day is the best man so he will be wearing what the GM wear.
    I hope it won't look funny having both dads matching :D but I could always give him a pocket hankie and his bout would be different (somehow).

    My dad is wearing a silver vest and a bow tie while the groomsman will probably be wearing a khaki or light gray suit. As long as they blend in with the wedding party, I don't consider it too big of a deal what they wear. I have no idea what my FI's dad will be wearing yet. Not too worried about it.

    FI and GM are wearing khaki suits, white shirts, and ties.  BMs are wearing navy dresses with pink bouquets.  My dad is wearing a navy blazer, khaki pants, white shirt, and a navy/pink tie.  Similar, but a little different.  Fi's dad is wearing whatever he wants because he isn't directly involved in the ceremony.
