We're having our reception at The Mavris. It's gorgeous. One thing though, when we booked we were still allowed to choose from a list of about six or so caterers which really helped us to have more control of costs. About a week or two after we signed our contract they changed to in-house catering only, which would have made it out of reach for us. We got lucky.

Also the skyline club in the Bank of America building. I don't know what it looks like since they renovated it, but you can't beat the skyline view. You don't have to do any decorating if you didn't want to because of the huge windows and views, but I'm  not sure how much it costs now.

    Good luck!

Depending on the size of your wedding Sahms has a great downtown space available. We considered having our reception there but we're getting married outside of Indianapolis now so it wouldn't work for us.

Try Fountain Square, they have an upstairs room as well as rooftop dining in the summer, maybe you could actually rent the roof! It's a very neat historic location with lots of different venues all in the same building, www.fountainsquareindy.com.
    Happy Planning!
