Reasons for registries in addition to BBB?

I decided a long time ago I'd one day register at BBB for my wedding but now that I actually have to decide...I feel like they have literally everything I could want or need for a house and I'm wondering where else to register and why.  I can see lowes, for home improvement type stuff but any other ideas?  I'm expecting about 125 guests at the wedding so I do want to have a big enough variety for them to choose from...

    You don't need to register at more than one place if you don't want to.  I don't believe Lowe's has a registry, but Sears does.

    I only registered at BB&B.  I didn't see anything I wanted at other stores that BB&B didn't provide.

    You might want to think about where your guests live, too.  We registered at both BBB and Dillards (as well as a local boutique).  Our wedding will be in my very small hometown, and the nearest BBB is over an hour away, but Dillards is only 30 minutes.  But if you think nearly all of your guests will have easy access to a BBB, then don't worry about it.

    One is fine. I understand that BB&B treats brides very well, and is huge, but I don't like shopping there, for myself or for wedding gifts. But I'm strange.

    </div><div>OP, you don't have to have more than one store, but in you're situation I would probably advise two.  Out of 10 or so posters you have at least 2 that don't like shopping at BBB, and it may not be local to everybody.</div><div>
    </div><div>Crate & Barrel, Pottery Barn, and Williams Sonoma all carry exclusive items that can't be found in other stores.  Of the three, Crate & Barrel is by the far the least expensive, with very high quality items.</div><div>
    </div><div>Or, like PP mentioned you could go more upscale and do Bloomingdales or Neiman Marcus - they both carry housewares that are pricey but unavailable at regular department stores or BBB.  I think Macy's is also more upscale than BBB and they have a pretty large line of items that are Macy's exclusives.... and if you have a Macy's credit card and enroll in their program, you get 10% back on everything you spend until your wedding date and 5% back on everything your GUESTS buy off your registry.  That can add up if you play your cards right.</div><div>
    </div><div>And finally, I would like to recommend Amazon.  While not EVERY guest may be internet savvy, most people are these days, and lots of people love amazon, love free shipping, and love that they will get 3% back if they have an Amazon credit card.  Plus you get an insanely huge selection.  That said, Amazon doesn't do completion discounts so if that's something you're into (and you're not doing Macy's or a place with a better discount... Kohl's and Dillards both have better completion discounts than BBB), keep the really high ticket items at BBB.</div>

    Not if you don't want to.  I registered at Macy's and Crate&Barrel in addition to BBB because they have a little more selection of higher end items, and a lot of items on our registry are upgrades of stuff we already have.

    I'm only doing one registry, and it's at BBB. I agree with you--they have everything I could want. We're keeping our registry small, though, since we don't need a lot.

    I totally agree. I can see why people like BB&B but it just isn't for me. If a friend was only registered there , I'd probably just give cash unless there was something super specific on the registry that I wanted to buy. FWIW, we have 3registries (crate & barrel, williams-sonoma, and cutco knives).

    I think a lot on people do one "lower-end" and one "higher-end" registry.  We're doing Target rather than BBB (FI works for Target), and Macy's for some things that I want to be a little better quality.   Macy's has good deals for completion and cashback, too, as PP mentioned,

    I registered at BBB and we found everything we want. BBB is 40 minutes away from where we're getting married. Most people will be fine going to the town it's in but we also registered at Kohl's in town for those that don't. A lot of items on the Kohl's one are duplicates and our Food Network everyday dishes

BBB does have some things like grilling accessories, but I plan to register at a place like Sears that has tools and things that my finace would like. I think this is also important for the guests on his side. I have been a guest before at weddings and only knew the groom. I really wanted to give them something they would need that was a little more geared toward him, but there was only 1 option - a goofy chair at BBB. So I want to give my fiance's friends/family the option to get something "for him" so to speak.</div>
