I have a question about eyelash extensions--has anyone gotten them/thinking about getting them? Looking for recommendations on where to go, average cost, and how often you need touch ups.

    Thanks!

    Edit--Punctuation fail.

Anybody know some great low-cost caterers in the Tacoma area?

Not sure what your budget is, but ours was pretty modest, and we went with Dean Allen's catering in Tacoma. One thing we really liked about them is that they allow you provide your own alcohol without a corkage fee. We are using their bartenders, but it's pretty reasonable (I think about 22.50 and hour) We did our tasting with Dean and he was super friendly, and the food was great. We've been very happy with them so far. Hope that helps!

Trying to figure out where we can cut the budget some more. FI wants to sell some stock he has to pay for the last half of the wedding (money was suppose to come from what he gave his brother to get their moms house ready to sell - it sold last Sept and bro still hasn't paid out nor finalized the estate - she passed in Feb 2010).

I want to get a personal line of credit and then pay it off when his bro gets off is backside, but FI would rather sell the stock (and he bought it when it was down so will make $$ on it). Looks like it will be our first big argument so need advice on:

    a) where else we could cut the budget and b) what to do about his desire to sell?

Left in the budget (totals) are our rings- $600, church - $600, Photo - $500, cake - $250, alternations for my dress - approx $100, ty gifts - approx $200, RD - $200, final reception items - $200 (punch, coffee, tablecloths, etc). Not sure how I can go any lower....

    Thanks!

hmm, you're doing pretty good so far, and it will be hard to find anything for a cheaper price imo. My advice, is to make sure you don't add any more "small" costs, if you can help it. The closer you get to the wedding= the more random, small wedding things you'll to tempted to buy.

Sharingourlove--I don't know if this helps, but for the rings, my FI is ordering a tungsten band for about 70 dollars. Not sure how you were splitting the $600 between your ring and his, but that could help. FI really likes the look of them, and from what I've heard, they are pretty popular.

Also, have you thought about buying table clothes and reselling them? From what I've heard, you can buy them for about the same price as renting them (or less), and then at least you could get some of your money back?

    Good luck!

meganhardan: Thanks for reminding me of a couple of things:

DH bought his ring for about $70 from Titanium Kay: http://www.titaniumkay.com/ And he loves his ring.

And I bought our linens from: http://linentablecloth.com/ I will be washing and reselling all that I can (heads up to those of you who might want ivory/royal blue/green linens!) This was about $200 cheaper than other RENTAL places, and I get to keep/resell all that I bought!

RSVP wording... I want something kind of funny, but googling "Funny RSVPs" didn't bring up much I was interested in.

Anybody else doing casual/funny RSVPs? I am getting ready to print them tonight so I have to make a decision soon.

    Thanks!

Megan, I have eyelash extensions, and LOVE them. I highly highly recommend Allison at Unique Skin Boutique (in downtown Seattle). They brighten up my whole face, and I've gotten so many compliments. My hairdresser kept making me close my eyes, and looking at them really closely, because he had never seen them done so well (he owns Mode Organic Salon).

They're pricey, but I definitely wouldn't cheap out on where to get them. I have the "lush" version. They were $200 for the first time, and then I have the "membership pricing" so I pay $50 for a fill every 2-3 weeks.

Our RSVP cards have the line for not attending as "frayed knot" as we have a water theme.

The rings are identical in look and price so $300 each. It's the one splurge I don't want to change. Good advice about watching the little things, I've already got myself going "oh that's cute" and so has my FI. It's the conversation we're having this weekend about what to do that worries me; he already has his mind made up that he has to sell the stock so I may just have to come to terms with it. But of course finding a place to sell the gold and silver jewelry my ex-bf gave me will help some! LOL

Google "creative wedding response cards" or something along those lines. When I looked I found a TON!

For our beach wedding we used:
    --It's a "shore" thing, wouldn't miss it!
--Sorry, out to sea, must "wave" your invitation.

I found that via internet searches.

OH! A very good website. verseit.com ....and google searches.
