I went to Group USA in Great Lakes Crossing mall.  Not a traditional bridal salon, but they have really great deals for nice dresses if you're on a budget!

Bella Rose Bridal in Shelby Twp. -- Nice family-owned business. The ladies are fantastic and very knowledgable. The best part was I got to ring a bell and everyone clapped for me when I said yes to the dress. Then my entire party made a toast with the champagne they provided. Yum!

Brides by Demetrio's in Troy -- LOVED LOVED LOVED the service there back in December when I went there for the first time and actually found my dress. And it just came in on Monday! So I tried it on on Tuesday and they'll be keeping it for the next 4 months until I make an appointment for alterations. I would recommend them to anyone and everyone. [:

I didn't say YES to the dress yet but the final choices are at Roma Sposa in Birmingham.  I've tried on nearly 60 dresses and Roma Sposa had the best ambiance of any salon I've been to...totally private dressing areas, water, snacks and unbelievable dresses.  Others I liked were Piera's Bridal Couture at 21 and Hayes and Maria's Bridal Couture in West Bloomfield.

Allesandra's on Hoover just north of 12 Mile in Warren. I can second Group USA at Great Lakes Crossing, went in there a couple of times, really nice selection for less money.

Since you will have some of your bridal party with you (and the east side is not too big of a stretch) go into Dealer's Discount Floral on 10 Mile just east of Van Dyke............the 2 or 3 aisles farthest from the entrance (to your left when you walk in) is FULL of bridal stuff, silk flowers, vases, veils, crowns, tiaras, headbands, and the rest of the store is full of SO MUCH you can use for your wedding (vases, ribbon, tulle, candles, candle holders). Leave yourself at least an hour to see it all.........I was in there last week and never leave without something, LOL. They are open on Saturdays, not Sundays.

Alessandra's :) Ask for Pam, she is the best consultant, but I think she only works during the week now.

Sue - great tip on Dealer's Discount - I will be going there very soon :)

Antonio's in Birmingham! Vida is so great and she even makes bridal gowns. My dress (which is pretty much all  lace) came in under $1000 including special changes like adding a lace-up back.

I tried my dress on at B. Ella Bridal in Ann Arbor. They were pretty unprofessional (the consultant showed up late and didn't appologize, didn't pull any dresses for me, didn't offer anywhere for my mom or FMIL to sit, the place was crowded and disorganized, etc.) so I ended up buying my dress at Allure Bridal in Livonia. They have been very nice, although I already knew what dress I wanted, so they just measured me and ordered it. Obviously, they didn't have much work to do, so I may not be the best judge of their service since I wasn't a typical customer. However, I did end up getting the dress for half the price that it was at B. Ella Bridal. And it fit perfectly when it came in (ahead of schedule).

I went to A'dorabelle Bridal in Waterford...they were probably about the 4th place I tried. Its by appt. only so its one-on-one and very personal. It was nice having a showcase room to myself, I had a bad experience at Davids Bridal with another bride liking the dress I was wearing and being extremly mean about me wearing it so I decided to try something different...But A'dorabelle Bridal was awesome! I got an Allure 8769 =)

OOOH they also do veils, shoes (colorifics too!) Jewlery, and some other accessories! so I pretty much got my entrie outfit there =)

Becker's Bridal in Fowler, I couldn't say enough good things.  Samples from size 0-36 I believe. Huge selection, reasonable prices and great staff. They spent over 3 hours with me and didn't even bat an eye when I said I wanted to try on more.  She actually insist I re-try things on multiple times to make sure I picked "The one"...even though that meant she laced numerous corsets.  If you can make it during a week they are slower, definitely do it!

I also got my dress at Brides by Demetrio's.  I had the best experience there and LOVED the dress the first dress the consultant pulled for me.
