Wishing Well Question

I am invited to a friend's bridal shower which states "Wishing Well" in addition to her registries on the invite.  I'm not familar with a "wishing well" but after googeling the term it seems like its a monetary gift. I already bought something off the registry so how much is typical of a wishing well gift?

Thanks in advance for your help.

it can be something small - like a household item. I gave my friend [at hers] a few things that she can use for the home. You don't even have to wrap it or put your name on it (unless you want to). I gave my friend Chip Clips, a decent pair of scissors, and some cleaning supplies.

Wising wells are traditionally a small kitchen item. Wooden spoon, ladle, apple corer (sp?) anyway just something small you don't warp that gets placed in a wishing well (or other location if they don't have a well)

Agreed, something small, some people have theme wishing wells in which the invite would have mentioned this, something like a potato peeler, ladle, pot holders, kitchen towels, anything like that is fine. Usually in my circle, wishing well gifts are not marked who they are from either, not sure if that is the same for everyone.

I've only ever seen it done at showers to ask for actual items, not cash.

At my shower, my mom did a "stock the bar" wishing well (something for MH, I guess :P), so I got a bunch of wine charms, coasters and a few bottles of liquor. A friend who knows his taste in beer got him a few nice craft bottles.

Have you RSVPed yet? I would ask the hostess if there's a theme, like kitchen utensils, honeymoon things (sunscreen, beach towels) or something like that.

Assuming it's a household item wishing well, I usually get wooden spoons or a plastic spatula.  Something that you could use more than one of in your home.
