Tipping in NYC/outer suburbs (Westchers)

What is everyone planning on tipping their dj?  Are you tipping out photographer if he is self employed and pockets everything?  Just curious...for event planner/matire d is it a percentage of your bill or a lump sum you are comfortable with?

Just curious...my wedding is FRIDAY!

    Hello im getting married on Saturday in New Rochelle! Where are you getting married? Im still not sure what im going to be tipping the Maitre D. I've asked around and i get everywhere from $1-$2 per person or some people say a percentage of your total bill. I am not tipping vendors who own their own business but i will be tipping the others around $50.00 each.

    We tipped the dj and mc $100 each. I did not tip the photographer, as it is his own business. I'm still torn on whether we should have or not - he did an amazing job. We did not tip the event planner. We tipped the maitre d around $2 a person.

    Don't forget limo drivers, hair stylists, and makeup artists.
