Alrighty ladies, I'd love to hear your suggestions! This is a southern baptist wedding and we aren't really restricted as far as what we can and can't do, but we would like to stay away from pop music until the reception, haha! Here is what we have decided:
Wagner Bridal Chorus for Bridal Processional
Vocal Solo after Pastor's message: "I Will Be Here" by Steven Curtis Chapman
Vocal Solo during unity sand: "When I say I do" by Matthew West"
Recessional: Mendelssohn Wedding March, Handel's Hornpipe from Water Music
We are having a Brass Quintet for all prelude/ processional and recessional/ postlude music. A pianist and 2 vocalists are required, for the ceremony songs.
If you have any ideas for "traditional" (but not Jesu Joy of Mans Desiring, we've beaten that one like a dead horse!) for our Moms/Grandmas music, or Bridesmaids, I'd love to hear them! Or, even list what you have/are using and maybe that will help give me some inspiration... Thanks in advance!!
July 16, Our Wedding Day, is also International Juggling Day!

Re: Our Ceremony Music!
I just picked an acoustic version of "Alla Luce Del Dio" from iTunes for the WP. Not sure if I'll walk down to the same song or try to find a different one. I totally understand that it's hard to find one that hasn't been beaten to death or doesn't sound like a funeral.

[QUOTE]For the Grandparents & Mom's, we're using "Parent's Prayer" (iTunes says it's Steven Curtis Chapman, but it doesn't sound like him)...the track sounds like the 90's, but we're having it played on acoustic guitar. OMG, that is exactly what my FI said about Canon in D and Jesu Joy... they are beautiful, and I'm a flutist (mom is church pianist and organist) so we play them A LOT ... so we were thinking kind of traditional sounding but not something commonly used. The J.J. Mouret "Rondeau" is pretty nice for a brass quintet too, but it almost sounds "too" excited... I don't know, we'll see. I like the songs you posted, too. We were originally thinking classical but we may find a pop-style piecce that sounds good in brass quintet. I'll have to experiment with those... :)

We used the song "Always" for the seating of the grandparents. It was my grandma and step grandpa's wedding song the year before our wedding, and I sang it during their ceremony, so we used it for the sentimental reasons.
