Checks!!!

So, I haven't been around a lot because I've basically not been able to move forward. My mom is a teacher, so she wasn't able to do anything from about mid-April until now (school ended a week ago). And since I'm in Germany there are just things I can't do.

So, the invites are almost ready, and set to go out next week.

We have a photographer, finally (really cheaply, my sister has a friend!)

I finally got my sister to visit my registry store and confirm choices on things that I needed looked at in person (towels, for example), so the registry is now complete.

And T *finally* got around to asking his groomsmen. Seriously, I thought he never would. There are still two more from out of state that he wants to ask, but he feels guilty about making them spend money on him. So, I guess he has decided to ask them if they RSVP yes. I've tried convincing him to just ask, but he won't.

The organist (who was a GM in my parents wedding, and I was a FG in his) is all set up and has the music selections.

Now, I also am going to try to convince T to ask the GMs to rent suits (he doesn't want them to spend money on this, either.) I'm really worried because he is specifically telling them to wear "just whatever black suit that you own." Hello, the reception is outside in August in Los Angeles! It's evening, so it will probably be cool, and they can take the jackets off. But they would all probably rather rent a light colored linen suit, than wear a black wool one.

I think the guys that he asked to be his GM should already be aware that agreeing to be in a wedding comes with a little bit of expenses such as renting a tuxedo/suit. The same thing goes for you BM's...they should be aware that agreeing to be your BM comes with buying the dress, etc.

I didn't want FI's guys to spend an overload of money on a tux, either, so we went with the lower end for a tuxedo jacket, shoes, etc. to keep it budget friendly. You don't want your bridal party to be in mis-matched suits. It would make pictures look silly.

Just a tip. It is rare to find places that rent suits. Your normal options are buy a suit and keep it or rent a tux.

Thanks guys: I actually already know the place and the suits, and have priced them. It's just convincing T that the GMs will be perfectly fine paying to rent them. He's a super cheapskate, obviously, and normally that's fine and I am too. My BMs are totally buying dresses (and I sort of think it's not fair to the girls to not make the guys have matching outfits). But he just really feels guilty asking people to spend money on him when he doesn't feel like it's a pressing necessity.

Good luck with your Groomsmen!! I hope you are able to rent suits at last minute, because it kinda sounds like that's what will happen with your FI. I agree, it isn't fair to ask the girls to buy new clothes but not the guys, and I also agree that your guys would be more comfortable in linen vs. black suits outside in August!
