Getting Ordained??

Help!!  We would really like a close friend of the family to marry us next Summer however we are not certain how to go about getting the individual ordained.  Has anyone else been through this and if so what website did you use?  Thanks!

My FI are actually legally married already (by getting on a single insurance plan a year early, we were able to save our entire contribution to our wedding), and we had one of my BMs marry us at her house. My FMIL freaked out about it, worrying that someday someone would "take away our marriage license," but it's perfectly legal.

All you need to do is have the officiant sign up with the Universal Life Church online, which is free, and make sure a couple of days passes before you turn in the marriage license so that their name shows up in the online registry.

You get your marriage license, he or she officiates for you and then signs it as "Reverend" Whoever, and then your friend needs to take it back to the county clerk and file it within 3 days. Just make sure you have 2 separate witnesses if you're doing this in Wisconsin.

    Almost too easy, right?

Yup! I agree with the PP. My friend lives in Michigan and we are getting married in Milwaukee. She got ordained online for free. She was able to have a church here in Wisconsin "sponsor" her and viola! good luck!
