invitations

Help!  Where did you get your invitations?  I haven't come across anything I remotely like.  I've checked out mygatsby.com, magnetstreet.com, skeffington's, and American Wedding.  Nothing appeals to me.

I'd like a rectangular invitation...maybe layered with a medium shade of green.  Does anyone know someone local who does custom invitations for a reasonable price?

TIA

Have you ordered catalogs from places like Rexcraft, Jean M., Invitations by Dawn, Exclusively Weddings, etc?  I think I got 7-8 catalogs and then ordered samples of what I liked.

I ordered mine on Etsy.  Custom made, quick, very affordable, received them in a week.  People love them.

I had mine custom designed at Yochi Designs in NKY- they work out of their house and have GREAT design abilities. The price is wonderful as well. Tell them what you like and they will make it happen.

Lauren Hayes of www.giddyink.com designed my invitations. They were AMAZING.  I am having trouble loading pics, but check out her website.  She is local.

I got mine from 123print. I have also heard Etsy is great.

For those who had custom made invitations, was the print raised or flat?  I have my heart set on raised ink (just a personal preference, not even sure why).  Are custom invitation designers able to do this?

For those who used Etsy, is there a particular person on Etsy that you recommend?

Thanks for all of the information.  It has given me a few more sites to check out.

Check out Blustery Day Design.  They are in NKY (only 15 minutes from Cinci), and were a dream to work with.  They work with every single budget and are so talented.

I'm not 100% sure I know what you mean by raised ink.

I designed my own invitations in Photoshop and had them printed by M.Hoppel.
The invite was printed in color on standard white cardstock and then those were matted on a dark grey, heavy cardstock. I was extremely happy because nothing I had seen in person via proof or online was what I wanted.

    How formal are you looking?

Yes, custom inviations can be printed however you want.  Raised ink i think is called embossed.  My invitations were letterpressed.  It might cost a little more than flat printing, but I think its worth it for a wedding invitation.
