What did you wear to your engagement photos?

Did you wear clothes that represented your lifestyles? Or that matched  your wedding colors? Wedding theme? Type of wedding affair? Did you exactly match??


I NEED HELP!! Our Pictures are tomorrow.

Our wedding is a very family oriented, country, casual affair. And our colors are purple gold and silver.

    I wore a bright red skirt and a white blouse.  FI wore a burgundy pinstripe shirt and black slacks.  Our wedding colors are black and white.

    We didn't put all that much thought into it, we just wore whatever we thought would look nice.  I think it looks far too cheesy for words when couples match exactly, but you should probably complement each other.

    Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284

    If you're going to use the pictures for wedding things, like invites or STDs or table numbers - then go with the theme/color.  Otherwise it's just a photo shoot so anything that makes you comfortable and makes you feel pretty :o)

    I agree, when couples totally match, it looks cheesy and fake.  I'd say try to wear colors that complement each other, like within same color family (all warm tons or all cool tones).  You could have him wear a cool neutral (like grey) and you could wear blue or green.  Also for pictures, jewel tones are gorgeous (fushia, emerald, sapphire, amethyst) and really pop.  I'd stick with solids rather than patterns, they tend to photograph better.  Accessorize, but stick with classic stuff, not too trendy (like it might go out of style and look really dated in a few years).

    Honestly, the point is to be a lifestyle type shoot, so dress in your favorite outfit that makes you happy!  It will show on camera.

    I just wore jeans and a sweater and he wore jeans and a solid color flannel. Just our normal clothes...

    We wore 3 different oufits..  we dressed up (I wore a dress and heels and he wore khaki slacks and a polo shirt) and then we did fun casual pictures wearing matching football jerseys of FI's favorite NFL team and then we wore baseball shirts representing our favorite teams.. I wore an Andy Pettitte shirt (NY Yankees) and FI wore a Chris Iannetta shirt (Colorado Rockies). Examples of our outfits are in my bio underthe tab "Proposal and E-Pics".
