Dinner menus cards needed?

Ladies I need some advice.  We are having an outdoor wedding with a buffet dinner.  Our table decor is simple, hydrangeas stuffed in square vases, candles, and napkinds with silverwear.  There is no drinkwear on the table, as we are having an open bar and I didn't see the point in wasting money on champange glasses or any other drinkwear.

My question is, even with a buffet dinner, with simple decor would you want to see a menu card at your spot?

I'm thinking it would add a bit of color and be nice gesture for our guests.  I know I'm always curious as to what is being served at a buffet dinner.  My plan is to also include the cake flavors, which will be served by the caterer, and mention our late night nacho bar.

This will be a DIY project for me and I estimated it costing about $15.00 for all 230 place settings.

I don't know if I would need a menu at my spot, but I do agree it's nice to see what is being served.  If you have time and it's not too expensive, go for it if you think it would look nice with your decor.  We are having a buffet, and I am thinking of having a few larger menus around the buffet area.  I have seen some that are written in chalkboards, but I am trying to find an antique window (lots of antiques where I live, just have to go shopping) to write on, because I think that will look better with our decor.

I too agree that it doesn't have to be something that's at each place setting. I'll be having a buffet at my wedding, and I plan on having a chalkboard or something up near the guestbook/place card table laying out the menu.

Like PPs... it doesn't have to be at each individual seat but somewhere visible to all guests would be nice. I don't like eyeing something at a buffet just to walk up to it to find out it has something I don't like in it or something

I think it's a nice idea, you could do one card per table too, it doesn't need to be per person.  I too just like knowing what's up there before I get there.  It's on my list of things that I may do if I have time but aren't completely necessary for a buffet.

    Are you doing programs?

Since my ceremony and reception were in the same location, I made a tri-fold brochure/program.  One one of the panels it had the menu.  (other panels had standard ceremony program, list of wedding party, in memory of, thank you to guests, order of events: ceremony, cocktails, dinner, dance, late-night snack)
