  Ferns are great for a pop of greenery and are relatively cheap to purchase.  They are easily found at nurseries, Walmart, Home Depot or Lowes and come in many sizes and types.
  
  
  
  Or this indoor palm has good height and also fair easy to find at Lowes, Home Depot and Ikea.
  
  
  
  
  Or there is this fishtail palm which is also commonly an indoor plant. This might be slightly harder to locate but could probably be found again at Home Depot or Lowes but provides a little bit more visual interest.
  
  
  
  You might try and call around to some larger nurseries or landscape supply companies to see if they would allow you to rent plants. Depending on your time of year you might be able to find something that is blooming.

  If you are putting it on a pedestal, a large fern that cascades .  Not a tall plant, because all you would see is the pot and stems, tall plants are for the floor.  Bunches Bob
