I'm doing some research.....How many of you guys hired a planner or DOC? If you have one would you mind telling me how much you paid and what services you recieved? Also did it include the total event design.
Paying 1300 for partial planning and doc services. I brought the theme and ideas, she is doing my legwork ---- hunting vendors, keeping budget on track, throwing out better ideas
I hired a DOC only... she was there to make sure that everything ran smoothly, and was with me the week of the wedding, to help with all the last minute details. I paid $500 for the week of and day of help (she is a professional coordinator that just so happens to work with my mom on a lot of her corporate events).

Same here! But she charged me less because we are friends. She has over 10 years of experience.
- She has gone with me to meet with the vendors - created my timeline - helped negotiate with venue - DOC duties -help keep the WP in line - work closely with the MC to get everything organized
I hired a DOC from my venue, she is super awesome and will basically do what I ask!! She will of course do all they decor, rehearsal, timeline, take care of me, groom and entire WP. She will be with me at the church, coord will all my vendors, etc....she is charging 500.00.
Thanks ladies keep em coming....for the PP did they do your event design for you such as decor coming up with the concepts etc or did you provide them. I really appreciate the feedback.
We paid $450. I brought the idea to them, but they are saving me a lot of time (and gray hairs) by doing all of the leg work for me when it comes to vendors, the venue, etc. They have also come up with lots of great ideas to add to the theme that I thought up, and of course they are taking care of the DOC.
I didn't hire a planner or DOC. Actually my planner/DOC came with my venue but I so happened to get the message below today in my email. This is AZ pricing. Are you thinking of becoming a DOC?

I hired a wedding planner and DOC services came with it. I paid $5200 for 25 floral centerpieces (3 different designs), florals for the bouquets, boutineers, corsages, ceremony decor, bride's cake, groom's cake, linen, chair covers, uplighting, and candy station.

Well, I went with a "middle package" which was partial planning, but not full planning. And I changed mid-stream and now have a DOC taking up the slack.
My original planner's services included the following:
Package #1: Help me finalize the details so I can have FUN on my wedding day! (Day of Coordination) (I can send more details of this if needed, but it included all of the day of stuff plus unlimited contact by phone and email from the date of the contract)
• Unlimited time on the day of the event, from set‐up to tear down
Plus - Package #2: Help me bring my ideas to life! (this includes the extra planning elements
This package includes everything listed above, plus:
• Budget worksheet creation and maintenance (she created it, but didn't maintain anything)
• Customized vendor referrals and research assistance, including contract review and price negotiations
• Conceptualization of a ”look and feel” for your event and assistance in assembling a team of experts who will assist you in achieving (Here's the design part that I felt was lacking. Her website now reads that she'll create an inspiration board)
• Contact and coordination with all contracted vendors to ensure a flawless execution
Production and execution of a wedding day timeline
• Menu, placecard, table number and program design (printing at an additional cost)
(This last point wasn't included on my contract, but after I canceled she said that she had been planning to do this and added the service to her website...) This was a major issue for me because I was stressing about how this was going to get done, had no indication that she was planning to do it and then found out AFTER the contract was canceled that she was going to...
All of this was $1,950. We paid her a deposit of 50% or $975. The new DOC picked up where she left off at a rate of $975, so in the end, we are paying no more than the original contract, but the DOC doesn't include any design element although she is very helpful in sharing her ideas and will go and buy stuff if she is in Downtown L.A. and is helpful for bouncing ideas off and giving insight...
Yes I hired a planner for $2750 which includes all wedding day DOC services.
She has a top tier package where she literally plans the wedding for you. You just sit back and make the decisions. No legwork involved. My plan is the next level down where It is basically for full planning services except she doesn't make the ultimate decision, I do. So I am involved with the legwork. I hope that makes sense.
