Yikes!  Can you bring in nicer tables and chairs?  I would definitely NOT use the bathroom!

  • not sure about the tables..will have to ask............ARGHHHH!! should i have a BM  drive me somewhere if i have to "go"??????

  • I would rather pop a squat in the woods than get my dress into a port-o-potty!

  • Will they let you bring in your own porto-potty for your event only?  You could rent one of the "nicer"/bigger ones that flush.
  • PS.  Maybe get just two big fancy chairs and put them on the ends of one of the picnic tables for you & your sweetie?   So, you'd be like the king & queen of that table?
  • Was this not mentioned/looked at when you chose this spot for your reception? I don't have any bathroom suggestions, but I would do as PP said & put 2 chairs at the end of the table!

<div>THIS. At the art festival in our town this year they had these and they were great. They were kind of like trailer type things but they had A/C and running/flushing water.</div>

  • I would do a sweetheart table if I were you. The wood on the picnick table with damage your dress....
  • I agree, I'd look into a sweetheart table type idea so its something you can manipulate in and out of a little easier!
Definitely look into the portapotty upgrade!
Also, could you put some sort of 'runner' on the seats for the guests, like a single blanket or burlap runner along the seat? I'm sure you're not going to be the only one in a nice dress that might get ruined by the wood...

I like the idea about the burlap too because I would consider guests attire also. I of course wouldn't want to take your dress into a port o potty and would look into renting bathrooms like the girls suggested.  Also, as a wedding guest I would be heated if I had to go into a portopotty to use the bathroom.
  • Ditto to the previous posters.  I agree with volley that I would be pissed if I attended a wedding and porta potties were the only option.  I expect that at the ren faire and dress accordingly, but even at festival grounds, I probably wouldn't anticipate something like that.

  • This is going to sound weird... but, where do you buy cheap burlap runners?  Our wedding is at a state park and we rented the picnic pavillion directly next to the venue to provide overflow seating.  (the building is glass and has an indoor/outdoor space, so if you are indoors or outdoors on the deck, its still feels cohesive).  so, the picnic area is directly adjacent to the deck area.

So, I don't know how many of the picnic tables will actually be used... but, I wanted to cover the benches in something.  Burlap would be great.... but, how do you secure it to the bench? I'm pretty sure the parks district would be mad if I stapled it.
