Blue Orchids

Has anyone had any experience with blue orchids?  I've read some stuff about the dye leaking and I'm curious about price points.  I'm looking at, probably, bouquets with blue orchids, white lilies and some other green flower (suggestions on that would be more than welcome since finding a green flower I like it proving to be a challenge in and of itself).

Re: Blue Orchids

  • Well there aren't that many green flowers available.  There are green hydrangea, green button mums, bells of ireland, green orchids (both large and small) and green carnations are probably the most common.

Why not do a bouquet of green orchids, white lilies and blue delphinium.  This way you have all the colors you want and no potential of dye leakage.

As far as prices, they really vary from region to region so you may want to check with yoru local board, but the best option is to speak with a florist or two in your area.

  • blue orchids are dyed.....if crushed (rubbed up against your dress)they will mae a permanent stain.   also there are a number of green roses also .

I am a custom paper flower maker and I have had a lot of brides order my blue dendrobiums orchids because of the stain issue and your dresses and they can custom match your wedding colors.  There are lots of individuals that make paper flowers but I don't see too many orchids and these are definetly a rare one.  www.etsy.com/people/tgruschke
