room block vent

Our room block at the hotel where our wedding is at is going to drive me crazy by the time July rolls around.  We blocked 40 rooms.  My dad called last week to book, and they said they didn't have anymore for the Friday before the wedding....REALLY?  I haven't even given the info out to a lot of people. Just the people that would need to be there on Friday for the rehearsal (the wedding is on a Sunday, so I don't expect everyone to fly in until Saturday).  Anyway, when I called last week to straighten things out, they decided to add more rooms for Friday.  My friend's mom called yesterday, and again, they said they had no more rooms for Friday. Ugh...end vent.

    That's weird. Do you think they made a mistake?? How can 40+ rooms be full already if you didn't give out the information to other people yet? Is there a way for you to check the list of people's names who have reserved the rooms?

    I am wondering if non-wedding people are somehow being issued these rooms.

    Is there a way to tell the last names, or you give them a list of last names and they can confirm or deny?

    Yeah, that sounds strange. Is it 40 "room nights"? That's what the hotels we're blocked at go by. So if you have 20 rooms for two nights, that counts as 40 room nights.

    Do they give you any kind of tracker or email communication to check how full the blocks are?

    It's 40 rooms total for 3 nights...but the wedding is on Sunday, so why they would be out of rooms on Friday is beyond me.  I've gotten the run-around all morning...so irritating!

    They wouldn't give me a number of how many booked on Friday, or names. :/

    def sounds like something is not right!! maybe they did give you 40 room nights instead of 40 rooms for EACH night...that is the only reason i can think of that they might have run out of rooms! we have 30 reserved for each night and are hoping and praying that is enough bc this is a huge worry!

    ugh...so I just got a list of who booked.  FINALLY.  There were only 7 rooms booked for that Friday night...really?  The lady who is in charge of our room block kept telling me that she was "surprised that so many people are coming in on Friday for a Sunday wedding".  No sh*t...they scheduled our rehearsal for Friday, why wouldn't people come in that day!?  Not to mention that 3 of the 7 were my mom and dad, my sister and her bf, and Fi and I. 

    Bright--the rooms for the hotel aren't booked up yet, they just didn't have enough in our block for that day.

    That's ridiculous they need to get their act together!  My hotel says that at intervals I can call and get a list of who has rented a room to see how many more I expect to rent between then and the wedding.
