invites to bridal shower, but not wedding

Here's our plan, we're having a small intimate wedding and the next day a celebration potluck with everyone elso we know and love. Would it be rude to invite people to the bridal shower that are invited to the potluck only?

    It's rude to invite anyone to a shower, who will not be invited to the actual wedding ceremony.

    The potluck is also rude, if you are using it as a casual wedding reception. If this is a wedding related event, someone (you or a family member) must host it and provide the refreshments  for the guests. If you decide to have a potluck, leave the wedding out of it.
