Ft. Myers Venues?

Hi Ladies!

I'm new around here (just got engaged over Christmas) and need your help!

My fiance and I live in the Orlando area, but are planning on getting married in Ft Myers (his whole family lives there, while mine are split between Sanibel and Tampa). I've never lived there, as my dad moved to the area when he got remarried about 3years ago. So.... I need help with venue ideas (and everything else, but I gotta start somewhere :)) !

I'd like to do a historic home or museum setting.. anything but a beach wedding I'd be open to though. I also really want a venue where we can do both the ceremony and reception. I've looked online and can only find the Edison & Ford Estate (waaay too pricey for us) and the Burroughs Home. Are there other venues that give a historic vibe in the Ft Myers area?

Our budget for venue (ceremony and reception) is $2k MAX!

Thanks!!

Congrats on your engagement! There is also the  Heitman House and the Sydney & Berne  Davis Art Center, both located downtown.  The Royal Palm Yacht Club is on the water right next to the Edison and Ford Estates. Also, there are many beautiful country clubs in town which are waaay more affordable. One that has a more "historic" vibe is The Edison on McGregor Blvd. You could also try a nice older restaurant like the Veranda located in downtown depending on the size of your party. They have a really beautiful courtyard. Good luck!!!!

I think the Sanibel Community House is affordable

You could also try Ellington's restaurant on Sanibel.

We are doing the Burroughs Home...I know a couple that got married at the Heitman House and I think that is more affordable and she liked it...There are a few historic places but the challenge is finding something that isnt "beachy"...Happy Planning!!!
