When to Register

How far out from the wedding should you set up the registry? We're at the 3 month mark and I'm not sure if that's too early, the wedding still seems a ways off...how long did you ladies wait?

I was not enthused about the registering process, so I procrastinated on that until about a month and a half out.

We started our registries more than 3 months out (probably more like 4-5). I would register now. As a guest, I like being able to browse your registry and shop when I see a sale or have some extra time to get the gift together.

We registered around the 9 month mark.

If you're at the 3 month mark, then I think you should definitely register soon - especially if you know you'll be having a bridal shower.

We registered fairly early because my mom wanted to throw us an engagement party, and her family members started asking about where we were registered. I have had the time to go through and update discontinued items as necessary, though.

We are going to make our registries tomorrow! I'm so excited! Our shower is at the beginning of March so I want plenty of time to get it started and refine things if we want to. I think the norm is anywhere from 3-9 months out.

i had a 2 year engagement, and we registered right away. people started using the registry for birthdays, christmas, etc. it was actually REALLY nice. even after the wedding, we've kept the registry up and continued receiving items from it this past christmas. people seem to like the fact that they can purchase something useful for us
