Amazon Registry Question

FI and I just started a registry on Amazon.  I keep running into the problem that I find something I like, but since it's through another source, there is no "Add to Registry" button on the item's page.  It can still be found on Amazon, why can't I add it to my registry?  This is becoming very frustrating already.  Has anyone else run into these issues?  Is there a way around it?

I've also searched for the same thing in Amazon, but through Amazon (if that makes sense) and it's only available through this other source :(

    On Amazon's FAQ it says that you can add items from any merchant to your registry: 

    I don't have an Amazon registry, but I just searched a few random items that are sold by other merchants and they all had an "add to registry" button under "add to cart".

    Is it possible the item you want is sold through a private seller (like I sell my used books/dvds on Amazon, you wouldn't be able to add my stuff to a registry).

    Hmmm .... thanks for looking into it.  I downloaded the "universal registry button" or whatever into my toolbar which is supposed to let you add anything you find online to your Amazon registry, but it's not working for me.  Weird.

    Which browser are you using? I know I have a problem with things working in Safari and Chrome sometimes.

    Also, it does look like certain merchants do not allow to add to registry-maybe it's a choice a merchant has when signing up with Amazon? But the universal registry thing should work for ANYTHING. Amazon's online customer service is usually pretty good, if it doesn't work in 24 hours maybe try that?

    I got it working now on another site, but this darn bedding set that I like I still can't add. LOL.  Maybe if I can find it somewhere else.
