AW: Couponing Haul this Week (Per request)

So, people kept asking me to talk about my hauls.  Rather than PM each of them, I am just posting this week's outcome.

Before Coupons: Just over $304 (Image below has as much as I could fit in it :P  Please ignore the wall of moving boxes in the background! :P)

What I got:

- 6 cases of Soda (12 pack Coke Zero Brand)
- 3 can of Pringles
- 2 Large bags of baked chips
- 4 boxes of Poptarts (ONly thing FI eats in the AM :P)
- 10 pre-made salads
- 2 bags of flour (5lb each)
- 10 Carmex tubes (I am addicted)
- 2 jars of Natural Peanut Butter

- 2 boxes of Philly cream cheese
- 30 Johnson & Johnson First Aid kits for our OOT baskets
- 2 boxes of Jello Pudding Mix
- 6 cans of Pillsbury Biscuits
- 2 Crest toothpastes
- 6 cans of chicken (Yeah, I am lazy some days)
- TheKnot Texas magazine :P
- 2 Boxes Chips-ahoy cookies
- 10 bags Uncle Ben's Ready Rice
- 4 large bags Kraft Shredded Cheese
- 1 Pack Mission Tortillas
- 2 Boxes Krusteaz cookie mix
- 6 bags Betty Crocker Cookie Mix
- 4 Boxes Wheat Thins
- 2 Gallons of Milk
- 2 Loaves of Mrs. Baird's Wheat bread
- 3 Schick Hydro razors with 2 refills each
- 2 CoverGirl Mascaras
- 4 Boxes of Gushers (Muwahaha don't judge :P)

Total: 44.38 after coupons

Please keep in mind most of these are non-perishable items that we can store for long periods.  All of my perishables come from a local farmers market.  I DO NOT promote stockpiling or shelf clearing.  It can be wasteful and rude to other customers.

Re: AW: Couponing Haul this Week (Per request)

  • I LOVE couponing but it is so hard where I live, no place to double coupon. I would be so psyched if anywhere within 2 hours of where I lived decided to allow it. Extreme Couponing is so fun.
  • If you can double try to get the Digorno coupon, $2 off any item, we have tons, we use them on the individuals ones that sell for $2.98 usually so are %.98 after coupon, would be free where you live.
  • Do you ever find coupons for fresh vegetables or fruits? Or meat? I want to save money but I am trying not to buy prepackaged foods.
  • On extreme couponing some stores give you credit on an overage. Example item cost $1.50 but you have a coupon for $1 off that gets doubled to $2. You have an overgae of $.50 that you can use on anything. Some of the people on the store buy thing they won't use and donate them to charity for the overage. You could do that to get fresh fruit and veges and other items that don't have a coupon

Yes!  The best way to get them is to write the manufacturer/company directly.  IE if you eat a lot of berries, send an e-mail to Driscoll's.  Bananas?  Send one to Chiquita!

What do you say? Just ask for coupons? Or say you like their products?
  • I usually say something like...

    Hello!
I'm writing today to compliment you on your great product. I really like [specific product here]. The taste and quality is an absolutely perfect match for me and my family. [Then I'll write about certain things I like about the product tailored to each specific company]

I was just wondering if you had any available coupons to send? My family and I would love to continue to enjoy your product. Sometimes your product isn't always in our budget and it can be quite costly when not on sale.

Thanks so much for your time!

    Sincerely,
