Guests & Flights

We are starting to get questions from guests about the cost of flights and if we have any tips on getting cheaper fare.  I'm not sure what to say when guests start complaining about how expensive it is going to be.

We have a feeling a lot of guests have been waiting to get the actual invitiation to the wedding to book their flights instead of booking when we sent the STDs.   Now FI wants to send the invites out now!

We are moving into our new house on May 1st and we need to have the RSVP cards addressed to there so I have convinced him to wait until we move to mail them.  Of course that means that this week we need to address and assemble all the invites so they are ready to go in the mail the first week of May.   This on top of starting to pack.

I have the same issue with my guests...I just explain to them the "typical" costs they should expect...let them know that you don't want to tell them they should book because costs go up and down....People seem to think because you are the bride that you also control fuel and flight prices!! :)  I would not send the invites out early...that is the point of the save the date....if you have a wedding website I would update it with typical flight costs (all our out of town guests are coming in from the same airport)....good luck!

That's the last thing you need to worry about are flight cost! I let all my out of town guest know well in advance our wedding date and we sent out Save the Dates, so they were well prepared to find flights and they did. I think my cousins and aunt booked their flights in January and they had been watching for good prices. They are doing a long weekend trip, flying in Thursday and leaving Monday. Have your guest looked into different days to fly, like a Tuesday? Sometimes that helps lower cost to fly on a off day.
