It's FRIDAY.  I'm so happy it's the weekend, except DH is working both Saturday and Sunday (boo).  I'm meeting up with a friend tomorrow to teach her how to use her new camera, and otherwise just shopping for furniture and organizing the apartment a bit.

What do you ladies have in store this weekend?

    Oh what furniture are you looking for?

    As for me, working on the house, taking my car in for maintenance and then one of new neighbors invited FI and I over for a welcome to the neighborhood party on Saturday night. Fi and I need to go shopping for a stove, dishwasher, fridge and washer and dryer.  Though the stove, fridge and dishwasher are priority since we need the dimensions to build the kitchen around them.  I haven't planned much more than that.

    I'm having a canning/jamming-palooza. I just finished making elderberry jelly (insert Monty Python jokes ___here___) and shiro plum jam with lemon and vanilla bean. I'm planning on canning up some pears with Riesling and five spices and some peaches with boubon & vanilla bean syrup too.

    I'd love to do something with dill pickles, but every time I make them, they go soft. =S

    Alyson, do let me know if you hever need a taster for your jams :D  Those sound divine!

    motoLyn - we need a couch, dining table, bedframe, dresser, and night stands.  I can't quite bring myself to spending good $ on "adult" furniture, but it also pains me to drop $200-300 on IKEA cardboard.  Craigslist has been useless, too -- lots of ugly stuff!  We have the appliances, at least.

    Tanq I'm feeling the same.  I know that I need to fess up and shell out for adult furniture.  So I'm hoping to hit up the small furniture shops that sell the off brand stuff at liquidator prices.  FI and I need a new bedrooms set and some chairs for the living room.  As well as office furniture.  Plus an entry way table.  $$$$.... Some ikea pieces are great, but anything that has the particle board back on it is a no no to me.

    OMG, I dream of adult furniture! We're living with my parents' hand-me-down living room set and the minute you sit on the couch, you sink up to your ears!.

    Aaaaaand it's 1990s floral chintz. SIGH. The wing chairs are in decent shape though... so if I knew how to sew, some slipcovers would totally save them.

    Tanq - I won't lie. I might be sitting here licking the spoon from the plum jam while I type with one hand.
