Half-Marathon Timing...

So I finished my 2nd half-marathon today, woot!  I pretty much hate running, but I am trying so hard to learn to love it.  My first half was the Rock & Roll half in Savannah and today was the Breast Cancer half in Jacksonville.  I really wanted to beat my Savannah time of 2:36.07 (truth be told I wanted to beat 2:30, but I simply didn't prepare myself for that).

CRAZY timing:  I ended up with 2:36.07 AGAIN!  How crazy is that?  Same exact time for each race.  I wasn't even close to the same pacing for this one as the first.  First one I mostly did 4:1 run:walk intervals and for this one I started with 3:1 and then realized I wasn't running fast enough and decided to just run the last 8 miles with a handful of one minute breaks.  I can't believe I got the same time...what are the odds!?!  I guess it's better to tie with that time than have gotten 2:36.08 Tongue out

  • That is really crazy. I've run a ton of races, and I have never had a repeat time, even on 5Ks.

Congrats on finishing your second half!
  • Yep, that's odd.  Congrats on finishing your second half marathon!

  • That is so crazy!!! I don't think I've ever done that. But I have qualified for a race by .02, missed school records by .08, and just Saturday missed a meet record by .01. I feel you, you see the time are just say, really?! Just know it will never happen again. :)

Great job running that half!!! Keep up the good work.
  • Congrats!! It gets more fun and easier the more you do it. :)
  • Congrats!!! I ran the race in Jacksonville yesterday too!!! It was my 2nd full marathon and I beat my prior time by about 2 1/2 minutes....finishing in 4:07:38. I was REALLY hoping to break 4 hours, but it wasn't happening for me this time.

And HOLY FREEZING! Some of the water I grabbed at water stops was frozen in the cups! :)

Congratulations finishing your 2nd half!!! I can't believe your time was identical. What are the odds!?!?!

  • Thanks, ladies!  I know I will never get that same exact time again...what a fluke.  I hope to do another half and beat that time one day :)

KmuJmg, oh my it was frrreezing!  Congrats on your 2nd full marathon!  I was originally signed up to do the full, but I wasn't anywhere near ready for it.  I think I'll stick with half marathons for a while or forever!
