Bummed Out

My fiance and I found a venue we loved and the sales rep we were working with was wonderful.  Well she left and I just went back with my mom and sister to see it again and talk more details and it was such an aweful experience.  The new rep couldn't have care less about selling us on the venue or working with us and it was miserable.  As a result we are continuing our search, even though we loved that first place, we don't want to deal with working someone who isn't willing or interested in working with us.

I did get a call today from the original representative who apologized for our experience (though it seemed like there was not much she could do) and on top of having a bad experience and being put off by the venue, I came to learn that someone else has requested a contract be drawn up for that day.  So even if somehow, the venue would be willing to come up with some way to accomodate us for our terrible experience and resolve those issues, it wouldn't matter because the day is likely no longer available.

Just really bummed that everything has fallen apart like this.  I know it's probably one of those things where everything is happening for a reason and in the end everything will work out for the best, but right now I'm just down because we really loved the venue and were thinking and planning as if it were the place.  Now back to the drawing board (and revisiting some other places we went to previously).

Sorry to hear about your experience. But, I agree, there's usually a reason.

FYI, a few brides on this board had their venue CLOSE due to the recession a few months before their weddings..............not saying that's what's happening at your place, but it *could* be worse (small comfort now, I'm sure).

Good luck in your search. If you want some help, tell us how many people, when you are planning, what geographic area you want, etc.

Good luck! I know that how me and my FI did it was that we had a date in mind, but we were willing to change it for a venue we loved, and in the end that is what ended up happening. So I wouldn't be thinking that you have to completely rule out that venue!

Where is the orginial sales rep now?  If she is at another venue close to you, check it out.  She might be able to do something for you.

    Good luck!
