STD timing question

in May 2013 Weddings
I have heard that sending them out 6-9 months in advance is standard. With our wedding being over Memorial Day weekend I wanted to be proactive in sending them out, but also don't want to send too late and have them get mixed in with holiday greeting cards after Thanksgiving. I'd kindof like to have them mailed by the first week of November. Thoughts?

    Did you also state on there it's MDW or just your date?

    I'm having mine over memorial day weekend as well and I did not state that it was I figured they can look at a calendar and figure it out. I sent my STD's out the beginning of July because I have a lot of OOT guest that need to make travel plans.

    I am not sending ours until the end of Oct... we have maybe 20 OOT guests, and almost everone has already heard by word of mouth, so we think this is a good time.

    I'm sending mine out November 1st. But I'm also not getting married MDW. I think with it being the holiday weekend, you should definietely send them early to give them a head's up so they don't make plans.

    I think probably any time from now to the beginning of October is fine. I have a lot of OOT guests and since yours is a holiday weekend, the sooner the better. I'm getting married May 11th and planned on sending out mine 2 weeks ago but i have been so busy with school, I haven't even had a chance to go to the post office and buy stamps.

    Our STDs have been out since end of August.  Remember ladies..all of our wedding invites will be going out sometime in March.  THAT'S 6 MONTHS FROM NOW!!  LOL
    So the sooner the better.

    I think the answer to OP is, you should get on that, girl!  November seems to late to me in general, but certainly too late for a holiday weekend.  We're getting married the 18th and have already sent ours out.

    I just sent mine out and a few friends have already booked the hotel so that's nice, especially if we can get a free shuttle out of the deal.

    Sounds like I need to get on it with my STD's! FI even thought the first part of November was too early but after reading all the posts from you ladies that is clearly not the case :)
