Well, most of you know I've been committing the unforgivable sin of planning my wedding before the actual proposal. However, Friday night he offically popped the question!

Nikisha- That's awesome!

MrsK- I love your sig picture!

If my camera was working right, I would show off the lovely bruise I have to the backside of my entire left forearm. I slipped down the steps at my aunt's house on Saturday for our family reunion, and luckily I was hanging onto the railing with my right hand, so I only went down five or six steps. The bruise is huge, turning blue, and it hurts! At least it's not completely noticable, or people might think I've been beat up.

Meghan - ouch, hope the bruise gets better soon. I'm super clumsy and I always run into things so I feel like I always have a bruise or two on. haha

FI and I had our mini getaway at Martha's Vineyard, and it was awesome! We rented a moped to drive around the island, it is really pretty and there are so many things to do. There is a small bridge over the ocean where a lot of people go bridge jumping, and FI and I did it, I was so proud of myself, I am not a big fan of heights. lol Granted, it took me about half an hour to finally go ahead and jump off, but I'm really glad I did, and my FI was impressed, too. Then at night time we went out for drinks and dancing, and on Sunday we just laid on the beach, so overall it was an awesome weekend!

Nikisha and Mrs. K, congrats to you both!!!!! Great news on both ends. My AW is that last week I was in the Bahamas and it was fabulous!!!!! The weather was great, I got a tan, we went out for great dinners each night, got a couples massage, went to out favorite spots downtown we've been there 7 times before, had amazing food, and spent hours laying by the pool/beach. It was a perfect week for both FI and I. Sunday, we went to an amazing steakhouse on the water with my parents. The view was spectacular, and it was one if the best meals each of us ever had. We went early, sat outside, had drinks, and listened to a calypso band, then ate inside but kept the great view. It was a really good week, 1st in a while that was so perfect. Thursday, the 9th, will be mine and FI's eighth year anniversary!!!!! He got me a gorgeous movado watch in the Bahamas, don't know what I'll get him. It'll be the last time we officially celebrate our anniversary on this day. I really considered getting married next yr on Aug 9 since its a Fri, but we decided Aug weather sucks here and wanted a Sat. A little bitter sweet but glad we picked June. Anyway, this ended up much longer than I though, lol sorry. Just happy today and lots to AW.

Nikisha, congrats on the proposal!!

I really don't have much to share, other than yesterday was my little sister's bridal shower, and it went VERY well!! We had it at my parents' house, so it required a good bit of work on everyone's parts, but in the end, it all came together and she had a really nice shower.

MrsK- yay house!!!! I can't wait to see pictures!

My AW is that I finally committed to a dress. Annnnd I ran my triathlon and finished in 2:14:45 (as most of you know both of these things at this point, I went a spam spree, haha). And I'm under the 300 day mark now!

That's about it I guess. Nothing else new or exciting for me anytime soon.

Thanks for the congrats ladies! It certainly is nice to be able to say that I am engaged now.

It's a very sweet story. He had my step-sister take me out to a movie (after two failed attempts at getting me out of the house earlier in the week). When I dropped my sister off at her house after the movie, there were paper lanterns hanging in her parking lot. Then, on the way home there were paper lanterns hanging from signs and trees all the way to my house. When I got home, my entire yard and porch was full of the lanterns and he was on the front porch. He said some really sweet things about "putting up with him" and how long we've been together and how much he loved me, then he got down on one knee and asked if I would marry him, I said yes, and he tried to put the ring on my right hand

I asked what his inspiration was, and he said that it was from the movie Tangled since I'm such a Disney freak and loved that scene when we saw it together.

I accomplished zilch, zero, nada... which is ok with me. Have a BM dress appt with the girls on Aug 18 in Chicago
